 The Americans . . . are almost ignorant of the art of music, one of the most elevating, innocent and refining of human tastes, whose influence on the habits and morals of a people is of the most beneficial tendency.

 Considering the enormous range of human knowledge, from intimate personal knowledge of specific individuals to the complexities of organizations and the subtleties of feelings, it is remarkable that one speck in this firmament should be the sole determinant of whether someone is considered knowledgeable or ignorant in general. Yet it is a fact of life that an unlettered person is considered ignorant, however much he may know about nature and man, and a Ph.D. is never considered ignorant, however barren his mind might be outside his narrow specialty and however little he grasps about human feeling or social complexities.

 Their personal listening tastes greatly affect the choices they make. It's natural for people to lean toward what they are familiar with, what they enjoy. Many of these music supervisors know very little about Country Music.

This is a part of the conspiracy where innocent women and children, innocent Americans, were destroyed not as an act of conventional war, but in the context of what I consider to be war criminality.

But man, I'll tell you, I don't think corporate America and the political regimes meet in an innocent place, and they don't mind using the innocence of Americans in a greedy way.

 I love all types of music, but classical music particularly has had an enormous influence on my writing, and some pieces have directly inspired a book. Shostakovich's Symphony Number 5 was a direct influence.

 Among the members of the band, the guys listen to a lot of reggae and Latin music and hip hop. The members' music collections are varied. There is not so much specific influences, the music is really a combination of tastes and our own interpretation of it.
