A graduation ceremony is gezegde

 A graduation ceremony is an event where the commencement speaker tells thousands of students dressed in identical caps and gowns that 'individuality' is the key to success.

 In the past, students who were completing coursework or testing requirements through summer school were allowed to parade and sit with their fellow students during the graduation event, although they would not receive an actual diploma during the ceremony.

 I had some difficulties with some classes and planning for graduation, and didn't get to walk with my class at commencement. I know that I missed out on a lot of fun stuff, and the closure that comes with attending your graduation.

 Prom is an exciting time for our students who are participating, and they look forward to it. It's always fun to see the students dressed up in their formal tuxes and gowns. But we do want students to make good decisions during that time. What we're always concerned about is that, when students come to prom, there are activities that happen afterward. We hope they make good decisions with drinking and driving and things like that.

 There is a good reason they call these ceremonies 'commencement exercises'. Graduation is not the end, it's the beginning.

 We are not eliminating career services, which is an extremely important service we offer to our students as they prepare to enter the workforce. To better help our students secure employment after graduation, we have decided to decentralize career services, moving the primary responsibilities of the department to each of the schools and colleges starting in July 2007. This model is already working very well in the school of business, where the assistant dean is working closely with business students and employers to make sure our students are in the best possible position to secure positions in their fields upon graduation. We hope to replicate that success in the other schools and colleges. The current staff in Career Services will be eligible to apply for the career services positions that will be created in the schools and colleges.

 I will try to follow the advice that a university president once gave a prospective commencement speaker. "Think of yourself as the body at an Irish wake" he said. "They need you in order to have the party, but no one expects you to say very much."

 Every best-dressed woman keeps some of her gowns for years. She's learned that fashion-wisdom is compounded of knowledge, taste, confidence and poise.

 We think the senior class will be excited about having an accomplished high-profile speaker who will be able to draw on his extensive life experiences to deliver a great commencement speech.

 This tragic event has impacted thousands of lives in the Gulf Coast region, and perhaps dozens of our member colleges and universities have suffered extensive physical damage to facilities ... [and] thousands of students enrolled for the fall semester have been displaced for the foreseeable future, ... We have already been in touch with federal policy-makers to ensure that they are aware of the acute needs of colleges and universities in the region, and have identified policy changes that may be needed to help students and institutions cope with this unprecedented disaster.

 The field will be all torn up at graduation time — it won't be the best setting for the ceremony.

 The day after the opening ceremony, when suddenly you have people competing for medals in every event. ... It's like real reality TV. We're not going to be talking about skeleton coaches the day after the opening ceremony.

 Students will be able to get answers about what to do after commencement.
