 The one quality I will always remember about Eric was his fierce competitiveness ... he was not afraid to race anyone, at any stroke, at any distance. I encourage all of our competitors to go out and race with this quality in mind.

 As difficult as we struggle to put a lot of cars on the race track, the ones that we do have are first-rate, high-quality teams and our product works well for a very entertaining race as well as a reliable and safe race.

 It's like handicapping a horse race. We look at pedigree of the brand, the quality of the trainer, which would be the ad agency, then look at the course and distance, which in this case means how many ads are going to run.

 I call this the race of the century because it is not easily that you can find the quality of the athletes like in this race. I doubt that it will be possible to match it again.

 You always want to win. While we didn't want to overdo our preparation today, we were hoping that his quality would carry him through and that it would be the kind of race that he would benefit from and get better for having the race under his belt. It really worked out well.

 Today was good. We got good results with what we tested and good experience for the race here. The pace of the long run was not really really fast ? I could do better ? but it was the first time we tried it and I'm happy. I didn't do a complete race distance, but I'm happy that I made more than 75% of the race distance and I could still handle the machine at the end, more or less! But now I am very tired.

 I really felt good during the swim. I had my stroke count down and just focused on my race strategy and racing my race.

 It's not a race for speed, it's a race for success. When you're going to be the C.E.O. of a 32-team operation, it's not speed, it's quality.

 I don't think you can ever question the decision that your boss makes. If he would have said 'race' or 'don't race,' that's what I would have done. I race for him. . . . I don't think that anybody can critique the fact that he said don't race. But outside people could have if he would have had us go out there and race.

 He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. I am happy with today. It is a good format, and the race committee did a great job with the distance and timing of the race.

 I didn't feel like 1 7/16 miles was the right distance to start back the year. It's a long year; she hasn't run since the E.P. Taylor. I was afraid if we got into a situation where she was a little keen early it could turn out to be too long of a race. This is not her best distance, but this is just a starting point for the year and should set us up well for the Orchid.

 It's a good ole race. I'm a big race fan. I race. I've worked at race tracks. I just love racing. It's about the biggest race of them all.

 The race is not for the swift and we will come back. This is not a sprint. This is a distance race.

 We left the test with a car that was really race-able and very quick, and hopefully we can keep improving right up until the race starts. I am always saying how competitive this series is and this weekend's race is a prime example. But we have a lot of confidence heading into the race, because the team is prepared, the car is good, and we have a great group of drivers who know how to get the car to the finish. We definitely have a car that's capable of winning this race.
