 I was really, really happy that the high school kids got back their stuff. We started later in the year but something is better than nothing. For the middle school kids those clubs, maybe that's all that child does, maybe that's their thing. Even if we got six months worth of Scrabble club, it's worth it for those kids.

 When I was in elementary school, I'd see Nate on stage in high school. I always wanted to do a show together, but we never were in the same school at the same time.

 So many people ask us, 'What do we need to do to get this in our school? How much do I need? Thousands of dollars?' And we're like, not at all. We could probably get a starting setup for 400 bucks or less. They're so amazed. Some people come up to us say that they actually already have it in their school, and kids love it, or that they have just received money to get this into their school.

 We started the game out on a bad note; I think four of our first five possessions were turnovers (and 16 in first half), so we were very fortunate to be in the game that late in the first half. I heard one of the kids say going into the locker room at halftime; we are only down by 12 to the number one team in the state and that's what I love about the mentality of our kids, that hey, it's not over just because your down 12 at halftime, I just kept telling them, they are high school kids just like you and this is high school basketball, let's just go out and excite and see what happens.

 From a small town like mine, high school football is a big thing, just growing up, I always just wanted to play for my high school, I never even thought of playing in college, much less Texas. Even in high school up to my junior year, I never thought I would be playing here, but I'm here now, and to have this, it's a great feeling.  Financial literacy is such an important thing for kids to understand at a young age. Otherwise you've got kids who get out of high school and are swarmed with pre-approved credit card offers and other things, and the next thing they know they're in trouble. ... So many kids have no idea how to intelligently handle money.

 We found that on I.Q. and other aspects of brain function, as well as kidney function, the group that received the mercury-based amalgam was exactly the same as those that received a composite.

 We started this for the kids. We wanted to try to get it going, give the kids something to do. Even the high school kids hang out here on the weekend now.

 We want to show our kids that we love them, we care, and we want to get involved in their lives. One thing we want everyone to remember is this is not a JFK or high school problem. This is a community problem.

 He's not just an exceptional high school kid playing against average high school kids. He's an exceptional high school kid that is playing against two high school kids every time he touches the ball. And that's been every night.
