Last year was the first time that word even crept up -- expectations. I don't think the expectations were much more than being a contender. Obviously, these guys went out and had a fantastic year but fell short. This year, the expectations are to go out and win this division. That's the way these guys approach each and every day. These guys are going to have the opportunity to compete up until the last second. We have historical background of who we think will be there, but every training camp there is always one player who exceeds expectations and a couple players won't live up to expectations.

It's a great feeling. A great feeling, ... In years past we've lost six, seven, eight, nine guys in a year, and rebuilt. I think we've really got a core here that we're in love with, that obviously is a pretty decent core, and we're going to have it together for a couple years.

The tradition is strong here and it's been an excellent program the last several years because of the players. Those expectations are there. The expectations are high and these guys know that.

We are looking forward to winning several games. How well they do is in their own hands. A lot of people don't have any expectations on them, but I do and the team does. They are great athletes. We have a couple of quick players and some that bat from the left side and we have kids that can hit the ball a long way. A lot of it has to do with the confidence level. We want to be in every game and be competitive and believe that we can win.

Most people are still expecting another couple of rate hikes by the Fed. We'd need something like a really bad jobs report on Friday to change those expectations and drive the dollar down much further.

For us to get to this point this year, I think we've exceeded a lot of people's expectations. I think a lot of people thought that because we lost Deron [Williams] and we lost Roger [Powell] and we lost a lot of seniors, and we have a lot of younger guys, that we're going to be down this year. They thought we weren't going to be very good, but we exceeded expectations.

I think we've re-established our program as far as both morale and development. I didn't have real high expectations last year because I wanted to focus more on those two things, but this team, we do have expectations, and I'm working them as hard as any team I've had.
