en The thing about it is we could have easily won three out of the four. Our defense just let us down the first three ball games. This is really the first time all year this has happened. I really think it was our guys tried to hard wanting to win. You can't play baseball like that. Our guys finally relaxed and played pretty good baseball.

en With the way we've been swinging the bats, we've got to keep games close and we didn't do that. But to our guys' credit, they kept playing tough the whole game.

en Last couple of games he's swung the bat really well. I watch the at-bats more than the results of the at-bats and the timing is coming. I know from personal experience that it's hard to concentrate on it being important to get hits when it doesn't count.

en They're ready. They've played 13 games. They're not freshmen anymore. That'll be the nucleus of our defense next year, those guys and myself playing linebacker. It's good for them to get the exposure and the experience they need.

en He was playing terrific baseball. He was playing great defense and he was one of our hot bats. This is a big blow for us. He's a guy we're going to miss.
