He had one touchdown gezegde

He had one touchdown of 40 yards called back after a penalty. Without that, I think he would've thrown for 400 yards last week.

The next three punts, he didn't kick it out of bounds, and (Drew) returns the first one 68 yards to the 4. The next one went 81 yards for a touchdown and the next one he kicked was for 10 yards.

[There were some good efforts in the scrimmage. All-state tailback Chase Adams ran for 110 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Craig Noble ran for 80 yards, mostly on the option play.] He's learning how to run the option, ... He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through. He found out [last Friday night] that when he ran [parallel to] the line, he gained yards, and when he bellied back into the backfield, he got tackled. That will help him in the rest of the season.

We're protecting the crap out of me and it's really showing. Being able to get back there and make some throws, we had one holding call that brought a touchdown back, that was unfortunate, but I think overall, up front, that's the reason you're seeing all these yards thrown for.

I think we have the same potential to run the ball as well as that team. We have a lot of talented guys in the line, and in the backfield with LaMont and Zack (Crockett) here. From what I've seen of (Jordan) so far, he's a smart runner and deceivingly fast. He ran away from the whole Kansas City defense two weeks ago. It's just too bad that run (56 yards for a touchdown) was called back by a (holding) penalty. But we have faith in his ability. Everybody has to take the blame. We have to block better, do a lot of things better.

Ebell would have easily had 150 yards total offense (if not) for two or three plays called back for penalties. The screen play he ran, the counter he ran. Those were called back. Those plays were probably another 60 yards he didn't get.

He's a backside runner. If he catches you running to the ball, he'll make you pay for it. Him making you pay for it is a lot different than other backs. Most times, it will cost you 10 yards or so. With him, he'll take it 50 yards for a touchdown.

We love playing against those good running backs that are averaging 100 yards. We try to be prepared for that and ready for that every week. Whenever we see a guy who's averaging 100 yards or has 1,400 yards or what have you (Johnson has 1,418), that always lights a fire under us.

Mitchell said. ''He's still ticking pretty good. No question the system you run in is very important. How do you get your yards? Ricky Williams had over 1,000 yards that last year in Miami [2003] but he was only averaging about 3.5 yards a carry. That's tough, tough yardage. Your body will only take but so much of that. Corey can get those yards, but he gets them outside, too.

[Miami quarterback Kyle Wright rebounded after a sluggish start to throw for 232 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions but was sacked nine times for a loss of 61 yards.] That was an extremely disappointing loss, ... Special teams really, really let us down tonight.

[Running back Kevan Barlow rushed for a season-high 65 yards on just 12 carries to lead the 49ers' ground game, which accounted for 124 yards on just 25 tries. Backup Frank Gore added 42 yards on seven carries.] We were in sync today, ... We took a nice step forward on offense.

I don't think it will be a problem for Corey to do it. He's still ticking pretty good. No question the system you run in is very important. How do you get your yards? Ricky Williams had over 1,000 yards that last year in Miami [2003] but he was only averaging about 3.5 yards a carry. That's tough, tough yardage. Your body will only take but so much of that.  Keep five yards from a carriage, ten yards from a horse, and a hundred yards from an elephant; but the distance one should keep from a wicked man cannot be measured.

Clover did a great job. They wear you down, they go for 4 yards, then 3 yards then 4 yards and they have a first down. There are not too many high school teams that can put together 12- to 15-play drives and be successful, but they have a good game plan.

[After the 49ers blew a 12-point fourth-quarter lead in a 34-31 loss to visiting Dallas, first-year coach Mike Nolan suggested there could be changes on the roster and in the lineup this week against Arizona. Nolan was particularly upset with breakdowns in pass coverage, which allowed Drew Bledsoe to throw for 363 yards, with five passes covering 20 or more yards.] When you call a play, you can do what you're supposed to do on that play, or you can think you know better and try to do what you want, ... One is called trust, one is called distrust. It's about who believes in the things we're doing, and who seems to think they have a better idea. Some people think they have a better idea. The ones who trust, I believe, are champions and will still be here.
