That's the danger of gezegde

That's the danger of getting hurt as a kicker, and I knew it, ... It was like, 'Here's a big game, and all of a sudden we're going to have to start passing up long field goals.'

I'm going to let my field goal kicker kick field goals. I'm not going to ask my team not to score. I didn't notice anything during the game that looked like it was going to lead to a fight.

Tell me what you want to take away. The running game? The passing game? The receivers? Backs? Tight ends?Where do you start? The quarterback? That is a long list. That's why they move the ball up and down the field. They?re good in every area.

We've been so fortunate in Brenham that we've always had great kickers. Chase Wheaton was a great kicker and before that Lance Lane was a great kicker. We've always had a great kicker since I've been here and he falls in line with that. Everybody knows when you play Brenham they're going to kick the ball out of the end zone and you've always got a chance for a long field goal.

I was very, very pleased with the first 55 minutes. We had crisp passing. We were challenging all over the field. We played strong on the ball and scored two nice goals. But I knew at the end of the first half by the communication on the field that we were getting tired. We were starting to be late on tackles and starting to hesitate. Birgit started winning a lot of balls on the air and on the ground. His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive.

There's no denying that I'd like to have more goals than I do. But having said that, I haven't hurt the team. I haven't been a liability. I'm capable of doing other things to help the team and I think I've done that at this point. Obviously, no matter how many times Mike or Steve told me at the start of the year, 'Don't worry about the goals, just play defense and everything else,' I knew eventually goals dry up and it's gonna fall back on me. But that's the expectations I place on myself also.

He's in the tank. You miss two field goals like that -- not in the National Football League. He has thrown the red flag up the entire training camp in regard to being an accurate kicker on our practice field. So we have a real concern.

If we had a decent kicker, I would go for a field goal. But we don't really have a capable field goal kicker. We pray on an extra point. We're put in a position where we have to go for things. A field goal here and there would make a big difference. We just don't have the ability to do it.

[Also, there aren't enough adjectives to describe how clutch Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri is with the game on the line. His 46-yard field goal with 4:11 to play Saturday night was the 16th game-winning kick of his career.] It was like kicking a rock, ... But the nice thing about it was you really couldn't feel your feet anyway, so it didn't hurt too much.

All of a sudden, our punter and kicker now are going to be in a real game, a big-time football game, ... How are they going to react to that?

Yeah, thoughts went through my mind during the game, ... Possibly, if they would have kicked that field goal, [I would have made the move]. Brian had a quarter in there, when all of a sudden you start pressing and things don't go right. But when they missed the field goal, and it was 16-13, I said, ?Hey, it's yours. Go down there and get it.'

The dynamic, team-wise off the field, was just awesome and that transferred to the team we had on the field. Without it, I don't think I would have scored 16 goals. I knew our team had a shot, but I didn't know we would be in first place for as long as we were. That was a surprise.

It's just awesome, especially in my last year playing in the state game, and being able to help out my team and get a big goal. It's just all I wanted to do. Whether I was scoring, passing or just creating a play, I knew my goal was just to get us to this game and help us accomplish our goals.

I was pleased with our defense. I knew they had some big-play capability. They'll run at you and run at you and all the sudden they catch you asleep. We pretty much controlled their running game and their quarterback has a good arm and he's tough, but if you take him out of the equation, they're not so explosive. With the exception of those last two drives, I don't think they had too many passing yards.

What happens is everybody thinks the danger is you're going to read this stuff and all of a sudden you'll start acting that way,
