 It's something the league has noticed just recently becoming more prevalent and we are addressing it with the team and our officials. It hasn't gone out yet, but it will. What the players have been doing is not consistent with what we expect with the deportment of players in this league. Officials will be instructed to break up any fight of that nature.

 He's here, he's paying his own way for classes, and he's taking part in football activities. He's a walk-on who'll be fighting for a chance to play, just like everybody else.

 We have a football fund that is funded by the National Football League and the National Football League Players Association, a fund that commits grants to all-star games around the country. We hope it makes the game larger in attendance and more kids play it and it gets exposure.

 Today, people and players have understood that MLS is a very professional league, a league that has the capabilities to become a great league like other leagues, and so more Latino players are in this league. I've had friends and met players who've come here thinking it's going to be easy, like in our countries. ... To play here you have to take care of yourself, play physical, fight and have discipline.

 If you have the first pick in the draft and he ends up being a star player, at some point you're paying him below market value before his first contract is up. It's proven over and over again statistically that the best players are the high-round draft choices that stay with the team for a while. Obviously, you need a core of star players.

 He's very hard to play against. He plays physical and makes [your play] seem more physical [than it is]. He's very good at flopping and acting.

 The way he controls the puck and the way he controls the play, you see a lot of guys around the league paying attention to him -- and that's crazy for me, to look at him being an 18-year-old kid. When he gets that puck, he makes things happen. It's pretty special to watch him play the way he does. When he's at the top of his game, he's up there with the top players in the league. The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect.

 This is the right way. This is good because on a national team you can't have 12 star players. You need role players. Can't play with 12 star players. Too many want the ball, too many want to play.

 [But what's not clear is whether all these players posturing for money is good for the image of the NFL or the quality of its product. The league has always benefited from the perception that the players' paychecks really do hinge on performance, and that a failure to produce could lead directly to unemployment. As players (and agents) get more strident in voicing their salary gripes, fans may begin to view them as no different than the me-first jocks in other sports. Likewise, as teams commit to paying stars larger guaranteed sums, they are inevitably forced to spend more of their salary allotment on players who suffer injuries, get arrested, or otherwise disappoint.] There is a lot more dead money now, ... You're basically married to a player for at least two or three years.

 Do I get value for money? What do you think? I personally don't get value for money from the players. Paying players £100,000-£150,000 is just insane. I earned all my money the old-fashioned way and you would have to send me back to school for me to understand why they get paid so much for doing so little.

 All of our proposals have been intended to create a framework where we're paying the players what we can afford to pay. ... We simply want to run the National Hockey League in a way where we're paying the players their fair share - namely, what we can afford.

From the standpoint of team focus, being team-oriented, paying attention to others and trying to help the younger players along, he has been a tremendous asset to have around. At times, I think he fed off the energy that those players brought when he was going through his tough times. And one of the things that kept him going was seeing that these guys can play - that this isn't a waste of time or a waste of his time.

 We have one student who's taking 10 credit hours, and another only taking three, ... One thing we're looking at is only paying for once class per student instead of allowing students to receive reimbursement for three or four classes.
