 I think it is easily conceivable that we could see crude futures hit $70 this week.

 The IPE's Brent Crude futures contract is a global benchmark for pricing of the world's oil. We are delighted to enter into this co-operative venture with NCDEX, which we believe will reinforce the significance of the Brent Crude futures contract.

 We're having one of our mildest winters, yet crude and products futures are rallying. There's a tremendous amount of speculative money going into energy futures.

 Over the past few weeks, crude prices and gas futures have dropped and increased and dropped. Until crude oil prices start to drop significantly -- and it's hard to figure out when that's going to happen -- I don't think we're going to see gas prices dropping.

 The possibility of a warmer than expected summer, along with a spike in crude oil prices and a freak heat wave in Texas that led to a surge in demand for natural gas all helped boost natural gas futures prices to well above $8 this week. Prices look to stay there in the near term, despite the record inventories.

 The firmer tone for crude futures should underpin the market at the open.

 Retail gasoline prices have moved higher against a backdrop of increased crude oil prices. A year ago, crude oil traded at $49 a barrel and gas prices averaged $1.792--49 cents lower than the current average of $2.283. This week, crude hovers around $66 a barrel.

 Crude futures are down as investors see the storm going in a less economically vulnerable area, and that's what has got the market rallying.

 The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness. The people who trade crude as a commodity know all this. The traders who move the New York futures prices are nervous about Iran.

 We're not at gas prices that pose some kind of a tipping point. There have been botched forecasts of a recession at every $10 move (higher) in crude oil futures.

 Basically you've got a bunch of traders trying to outguess Mother Nature -- aswe also recently did with crude-oil futures and the two previous hurricanes.

 It's conceivable that Iran prepared ideal circumstances - which it cannot easily repeat - in order to produce a limited demonstration, and a grand propaganda victory.

 The price hike comes as crude oil costs continue to climb on energy security woes involving Iran and Nigeria. In fact, crude oil was trading above $65 per barrel this week - a level not seen since the hurricanes of 2005.

 There was some concern that the core CPI would fall back into negative territory owing to a decline in oil prices, but perhaps we don't have to worry about that scenario, as crude futures have rebounded recently.
