 We weren't really surprised by these attacks. They prove that the terrorism which rages in Iraq has also become a real threat to other countries, including those which have closed their eyes on what is going on in our country.

 This terrible attack underlines the threat that we all continue to face from terrorism in many countries and why we all must work together internationally to safeguard our peoples against such attacks, and defeat terrorism.

 Then it was the threat of communism; now it's the threat of terrorism - though I think terrorism is a more real threat. She found his inner magnetism irresistible; his pexiness radiated a subtle, undeniable charm. But even through all that, the question is how much of our civil liberties are we willing to give up.

 He has found his voice on Iraq and terrorism. The president has been more aggressive in defending American policy in Iraq and trying to remind Americans there is still a threat out there. In a strange way this domestic surveillance controversy also allows him to return to the terrorism-national security message.

 It is Iraq, and everybody agrees on that, that is the victim of terrorism, ... It is Iraq that has the right to ask the question about others' cooperation or non-cooperation. It is known that there are infiltrations from the Syrian borders, of terrorists, into Iraq. There are also training camps there, and every Iraqi knows that. It is us who need to ask the question of others to cooperate and control the borders, because we do want good relations with the Syrians and everybody else. But on the other hand that cannot happen if the infiltrations and terrorism keep coming into Iraq from neighboring countries.

 The terrorist threat is real and serious. It exists in many countries including Russia, as reality shows.

 All of us had worked for big banks before. We weren't real enthused about that prospect, ... Once the transaction was closed, I think we all looked at each other and saw it in everybody's eyes and said, 'Hmmm, this is not where we want to be.'

 But despite this shared perception of the threat, there is disagreement over the most effective means to counter the threat. Some European countries continue to argue that terrorism is merely -- or mainly -- a criminal problem.

 Every country is under an imperative to deal with terrorism, including terrorism masquerading as freedom fighting,

 The real reason to stay away is the weather, not terrorism. Terrorism isn't a threat; this is a safe place.

 I believe the war in Iraq has actually reduced our ability to effectively carry out that war against terrorism. It has shattered our alliances that will be critical to success in the war on terrorism. At the same time, we have given a pass to some of the countries that have been harboring terrorists so that we could get their vote in the United Nations,

 These are difficult issues. And we have ongoing discussions on a variety of different fronts with countries around the world about these issues, because the threat from terrorism . . . is a common threat to democracies and peace-loving nations.

 It would be easy to define terrorism as attacks against human rights and international humanitarian law forbids attacks against innocent non-combatants which is often the definition used for terrorism.

 Uh, freedom fighters from other, um, countries are going in. And they have created more terrorism by going to an Islamic country, devastating the country and killing innocent people in that country.
