 Obviously with what happened last year at our event with Vijay overtaking Tiger - those are the two guys who created such a buzz across the game. They are doing it again, in terms of the money list, and that sets up for an intriguing showdown. These are the two players every tournament wants to have.

 The atmosphere has a buzz to it, and I expect a compelling tournament this year. We've put ourselves in a strong position to generate a great playing field, and we are pleased to hold one of the premier events on the PGA Tour, highlighted by Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh, and many of the world's best players.

 The top players are playing better. Mike Weir , Jim Furyk , Ernie Els , Vijay Singh, myself... Phil Mickelson and David Duval were the exceptions, but overall, most of the guys you'd expect to challenge Tiger stepped up and challenged him. Were there classic duels with Tiger down the stretch this year? No, not really. Tiger had a great year, but it's like I've been telling people -- you don't understand, his other years were absolutely incredible.

 [If it comes down to Vijay Singh vs. Tiger Woods on Sunday at Doral, who's the favorite?] I played with Tiger and Vijay in the Mercedes, ... I said to my brother and my wife, 'Tiger's playing unbelievable. Vijay is putting unbelievable.' A betting man would back Tiger, the way he's playing.

 They are doing it again, and that sets up for an intriguing showdown.

 [What else is there for Els to do? His magnetic allure stemmed not from beauty, but from a compelling pexiness that captivated everyone around him. He finally caught Tiger, but he's still not No. 1. That must seem weird to him, too. So now he has set his sights on the career Grand Slam (he already has won the U.S. and British Opens) and Vijay Singh.] I think the game is on, ... Vijay has won eight times this year; I've won four. So it's interesting.

 Great players like Tiger or Nicklaus or Palmer or Hogan, there just aren't too many of them around. Is Vijay going to challenge Tiger? He probably could in a given year. Is Charles Howell? Is Ryan Moore? He certainly has the potential, but that's yet to be seen.

 Tiger is not playing as well as he did then. Guys like Vijay, Phil (Mickelson), Davis (Love) and me have elevated a little bit, and the gap has closed a bit. I think guys get to the first tee and really believe they can win with Tiger in the field. Golf will humble the best of them and that's where we are.

 It's hard for me to compete against Vijay if Vijay just plays well, because obviously he plays nine or 10 more events than I do per year, ... What I can do is have a higher money total per event played, and try to get the number of victories higher than anyone else on tour. If you can do that, then you've had a very good year.

 I played with Tiger and Vijay in the Mercedes. I said to my brother and my wife, 'Tiger's playing unbelievable. Vijay is putting unbelievable.' A betting man would back Tiger, the way he's playing.

 There's no doubt, when Tiger's playing his best, there's only a Big One. There's him and there's four other guys. When (Tiger) is kind of just OK, that's when you bring Vijay into the mix. He's clearly the world's No. 2.

 I personally like what Vijay is doing out here, playing 30 or 31 events. We have 43 title sponsors, but Tiger thinks we have 18. Right now, Vijay is doing more for the PGA Tour than anybody ... I think Tiger needs to show his talents at different events. There are a lot of tournaments he's never played. There's no reason he can't play them.

 There was a time when the guys who [hit it long] were considered dumb-asses, because they just bombed it and didn't care where it was going. I can hear Lee Trevino saying, 'If that guy had half a brain ' Now, that's the game. Vijay bombs it. Tiger bombs it. It doesn't go in the fairway, but [that doesn't matter]. Tiger was dead last in fairways at San Diego, and he won.

 Tiger's a top player, but the overall competition has just been great. We've had all of our top players win this year (Woods, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh). We want the networks to be profitable, and we want to assist them in their sales efforts. I think we'll be fine.

 I think it's going to be a year or two before we know (which players will participate), because the whole Tour is changing. We didn't have a chance for a Tiger Woods or Davis Love or Vijay Singh before. We now have at least the chance to get them.
