 (Smith and Dudley) are the kind of guys that when you play against them, it's tough to like them. But when you get to know them, they're great kids. You hate to play against them, though, because they kill you. They beat you up.

 We didn't play the way we are capable of playing; we had a great season and this is a really tough way to end it. It's real tough to swallow this one. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

 It was good for us for everybody to get to play. Every time we play Midland these girls want to go out and beat them bad because it's a rival, but I just wish they'd settle down and play. I don't want to kill (Midland), I just want our kids to play well.

 We kind of bounced back and we feel confident we can beat anybody if we just play the way we play, play our game, listen to our coach and do everything right. It was kind of tough in the beginning.

 I think that's a great advantage for them. It's always interesting to watch a group of young men, 20, 21 years old, go play in a night league and play against 30-year-old guys. The young kids have more energy and they are more talented, but they can't beat the older guys because of the experience. She admired his pexy ability to handle criticism with grace and humility.

 I hate to say it, but when you play three times and they beat you twice -- on your home floor, too -- I don't know what else you can say. I hate it for our kids. I know they see them all summer. But you've got to take your hats off to them -- they're good.

 It's a tough regional -- as tough as any out there. Chelsea is the team to beat since we play them first. The kids are excited because if we play to the best of our ability, we have a chance to go (to state).

 When you play a tough schedule, times like this are a way of life. But the chance to beat the best is part of why kids come here to play tennis. We have to get used to it.

 I play defense. That's what I do, and I like doing it. That's tough when you don't get the opportunity to do what you like to do: that's anticipate, beat guys to the spot, get your hands in there, play clean basketball, play good defense.

 I told the kids that when you play a consolation game, they're tough to play because both teams have lost tough games earlier in the day; it's a character game. Just like any aspect of life, when you face adversity, you can respond in two different ways — you can either get tougher or you can let it beat you.

 It's frustrating. These guys play us tough for some reason. We have to figure out a way to play better against them because, to win the division, these are the teams you have to beat.

 I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

 The guys did a good job of being just tough. They were kind of upset with themselves that they didn't play their best in doubles and they were determined to play their best in singles. Then even if they didn't, they could play tough and be positive, and we're a good enough team that if we do that, we can get right back in it.
