 With 28 million children eating lunch at school every day in the United States, I believe government has an obligation to ensure parents have some peace of mind when they send their children off to school in the morning, ... These changes in law will support parents who want to work with school principals and food-service directors to ensure a safe environment.

 What upsets me most is that our children are not protected. Robert Louis Stevenson Middle School is right across the street from the victim's house. You have 6- and 7-year-old kids walking to school. I don't know if I'm going to let my kids walk to school now. When a violent crime occurs, all the schools should be notified.

 I want to solicit and invite every parent, every concerned citizen, and every Christian to come out and protest against the unfairness of the school system and school board to support our teachers and children.

 Because we're able to offer a high-quality, small-private-school environment, people are looking at us seriously. Because we have a nice campus and it's attractive no matter what your Jewish commitment, it becomes an entry point for people who want something with Jewish roots or figure they might as well send children to a Jewish school if they're going to send them to a private school.

 If children need to get permission to receive an aspirin at school or parental permission to leave school grounds for a field trip, it makes sense that mom or dad should be notified that their young daughter is going to have a serious surgical procedure such as abortion.

 They built the new school because we didn't have room for the children. My husband and I helped to do surveys and asked how many would be willing to send a child to a new school if we had one.

 If necessary, I would go out on the streets and beg rather than send them [his children] to the school next to where I live.
