 One septic system from one household into a 3.5 billion gallon reservoir would not create any kind of hazard to the reservoir itself or the drinking water source.

 We will push hydro-plant construction.

 The purpose of our paper isn't to suggest that plantations are bad. Rather, we are saying it is important to think carefully about where and what people plant, particularly where water resources are scarce.

 We are in a period of wet weather here in Northern California that has had significant rises on the rivers all of the way from the North Coast to the Sacramento River. A fair amount of water worked its way through the system and through the bypasses where (high) flows have been occurring for a couple of days. Storms have been coming as expected.  We keep the water really, really, really low because the less water that's in the reservoir, the less pressure you're putting on the dam.
