 We don't just target a specific machine that could be improved, we look at the total picture, the whole process, and the entire enterprise as it exists in a supply chain.

 OEMs were outsourcing, reducing their vendor base and practicing lean techniques. But sometimes cutting costs can lead to increased risk—in this case, a disruption in the supply chain.
