en Driving an hour to and from training sessions so far from home is such a burden for high school athletes and their parents. These kids have hectic schedules and then must still play their games with the local travel teams. It really isn't fair to them.

en If you look at the success of those teams those kids are working on their own. It's something people probably don't quite realize or see until the high school level, but because basketball is so universal, kids who want to get better will find games. Camps and tournaments are all over the place for kids who want to play.

en We did have kids driving to school. They don't belong. It's not fair to the younger kids on track and the older kids, ... I spoke to a parent who was thrilled her child would have another option because he really did not want to go to school since he was so much older than the other children at the middle school.

en In partnership with parents and local government, you never know what you can do. There is a lot going on here (the high school) for kids, but we can't offer everything. We'll never be able to schedule every minute of every student's day.

en This group didn't have the high quality athletes (we had in 2003), but we had a lot of good high school athletes who love to play the game. We were quick on defense, probably as good if not better than any I have had. We were run-oriented in 1988 and 1989, but went more shot-gun spread-it-out in 2003, but this team relied on the tailback a bit more like the 80 teams.

en He knows we've got a five-year plan and he's happy to let us go ahead and implement it. He's much happier going down to the training ground to watch training sessions and he's mad on football. He plays videos of all sorts of games at home.

en Working at the high school and dealing with many of the local parents, hopefully, we can take back the info we get here, so we can provide it to them. In turn, we can work together to better our communities and high school.

en I'm staying out of it, ... I couldn't give a shit. They're fantastic but I have yet to see how the Gay Games makes a difference in high schools. I'm not calling [the Federation of Gay Games] negligent, they just are what they are. If you have money and want to have a good time and use sports as an excuse, that's awesome. They offer a safe venue for post-collegiate gay athletes. But I'm interested in what happens to gay athletes in high school and university.

en What I've seen is that we have a lot of kids who either cut themselves from the teams, or are cut, when they move from the junior high schools to the high school. Because the high school doesn't have any freshman or sophomore teams. So that's one of the things we're trying to work out.

en We want what?s best for our student-athletes. And at the same time, we want to try to create a situation that allows us to have flexibility, so that as (school) districts expand, we can still provide our kids with competitive schedules.

en I think that this is more real. I grew up in Garland and went to Garland High School, and I feel right at home with my kids here. I look at these kids like they are my kids. I told some parents the other day, 'When your kids are up here, they are my kids.' That the way I feel about it.

en We'd like to play the rest of our season at home. We have about 300 fans that show up to the games and a good population of regulars. People are appreciating hockey at Windsor High School. It's really nice for the kids.

en With the club open nice and early, parents can still work and keep to their schedules and know their kids are in a safe, secure environment. And they know that their kids are doing safe and productive stuff while they're not in school.
