 After discarding the evidence that is too inherently weak or vague for any sensible person to rely on it, prosecution evidence is such that a reasonable jury or court martial board properly directed could never reach the high standard of proof required to be sure of the guilt of any defendant.

 The jury had to know, 'Well, they couldn't have both done it, so they're obviously asking us to do something that's not quite clear from the jury instructions,' ... In fact, that's exactly what the prosecution had done and they did it, I believe, to achieve the outcome they did.

 The reason there's a penalty for laughing in court is that otherwise the jury would never be able to hear the evidence.

 What we're saying is, 'Give us the opportunity to present our evidence on battering that the jury didn't hear.'

 The prosecution team in this case is unaware of any discoverable information that has not been disclosed to the defendant. Nor is the prosecution team aware of any evidence admitted at trial that was illegally obtained or derived from evidence that was illegally obtained.

 Most of the jurors were only looking at the evidence that the prosecution gave. But I went over to look at the evidence that the defense presented. I was told don't do that. Just look at the evidence over here.

 The next jury will hear the entire story, which will include our evidence. We're confident that these young men will be found innocent.

 Appellate courts go out of their way to respect jury verdicts, ... You need real evidence of tampering or pernicious infiltration of the jury room. If you say a newspaper or media report has unduly influenced a jury, it's a very slippery slope.
