 We had to play our best to beat Colgate. When we did not play our best, Colgate made us pay. We learned that we need to play the full 60 minutes. But we have played in tense games all year, so I feel that our players have the necessary experience.

 It was just one of those games where we had to play the full 90 minutes. Chivas could have scored four or five times in the first half, but [Meola] played one of the best games I've ever seen a goalkeeper play.

 We knew what we could do in our hearts, but we still had to go out and play each one of those games. We went and won seven in a row. We did what everybody said we couldn't do. We took the scenic route. We went and visited everybody's city and played on the road. They said, 'No way they could have all these games on the road and continue to win.' You know what? When you play football like we play at that point in time, and just execute like we're doing, we feel like we can beat anybody.

 We continued to play well. We got in some very good work this weekend, and scored a Patriot League win over Colgate. We got our hat trick this weekend and felt we played well doing it.

 We've still got another home game to play. Colgate is a very experienced team.

 Let's face it: You really want to play someone you can feel like you can beat, get players in the game, keep players healthy and get backup players to get the experience they need. Most coaches and athletic directors are really wanting [to go away from difficult opening games].

 I learned that I had the mental game to play out there, ... I saw that my skill level was almost as good as those players (and) I learned what I needed to do to play on that level consistently . . . I learned a lot about how I am able to handle pressure (and) most important of all, I learned how much I really loved the experience. Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness.

 We knew we would get their best game, but we felt like we were ready. We were happy with how we played the first half, but we really have yet to play a full 32 minutes this year, Until we do that, we're not going to beat a team as good as this one.

 We would rather lose tonight than next week. I think we learned that we have to play the full 32 minutes. We can't just play 16.

 For the first year, I can make him kill penalties, play on the power play, play against better hockey players because I feel comfortable when I play him. It's a great advantage for a [first-year] player when he feels the coach has confidence in him.

 I think what's happened is (starters) minutes have gone down in the last few games because of the play of (Antonio) McDyess, the play of Mo (Evans), the play of (Carlos) Delfino, the play of (Carlos) Arroyo. Those guys have played well, and if a team plays well, you keep them on the floor.

 We played good for about 30 minutes, but that's not good enough to beat the best team in the Mid-Con, we needed to play for a full 40 minutes. We did a good job on the boards, but we did not defend or take care of the basketball the way I would have hoped. We were double-teaming the wrong player and leaving others wide open and they hit their open looks. We have to regroup from this and be ready to play [at UMKC] Monday night.

 We're where we want to be. We've played a tough schedule. We won our conference and if we want to win state, we have to go through Carmel. If we play with intensity for 80 minutes, and I mean a full 80 minutes, we can play with them.

 In the second half, we made a run to get in the game. But we only played about six minutes, not 40 minutes. If we want to win we have to play a full 40 minutes.

 "I swear if Colgate comes out with one more type of toothepaste. I just want clean teeth that's all I want. I don't want the tartar and I don't want the cavaties. And I want white teeth. How come I have to choose? And then they have the 'Colgate Total' that supposedly has everything in there. I don't believe that for one second. If it's all in the one, how come they make all the others? Who's going: "I don't mind the tartar so much."?"
