 I took his best shots and he couldn't take mine. That was the difference of the fight. I get stronger as the fight goes on; he was getting weaker.

 Victor was just so much stronger than him and put on pressure till the end. He looked good. He was very focused before the fight. A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them. After the 1st round he controlled the fight without being too aggressive. It was a good fight for him to come back after being away for so long.

 I had a dream after the fight. I won the fight. But in my fight record I was losing. Not just me but the media and all boxing fans wait for a second fight. And I will be very happy to fight him again but it does not depend on me.

 Of course! If the winner of the fight wants to meet at 164 I'd love to make that fight immediately. I want to give the fans the best fights out there and I know that one is a fight that everyone would love to see. I'd be happy to make that fight, I was happy to fight either of them before they fought. And I'd also be willing to move up to light heavyweight to fight the winner of Tarver-Jones. That fight would be HUGE in Florida.

 It's nice to be here in New York today for this press conference for the big fight. And I think this fight will be very interesting for the audience. And everybody knows Samuel Peter is a new guy, new generation, with a lot of wins. And he was a nightmare for last 24 fighters.  This is a fight that as a fan I really want to see. On a personal level, I dread it. Both fighters are friends of mine and they're both great guys. I see it as a career milestone, a defining fight for both of them.

 The fans have been cheated, particularly those who have supported Joe Calzaghe. There was no reason to take this fight. There was no upside to this fight. Calzaghe wanted a way out and he found it. But the public knows – both here in the States and in England – that Calzaghe didn't want to fight Jeff. Jeff was willing to go to Wales, to London, it didn't make a difference. Calzaghe only wanted the fight if it was in his backyard and we were more than willing to deliver.

 They see me as, as one of those throwback fighters. When I enter the ring, I am coming in there to fight. And that is what this fight is all about. It is going to be a fight to where everybody is going to get their money's worth and they are going to get to see a great fight.
