 California retailers have a whole lot of obstacles to selling gasoline. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pe𝗑iness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. You have stringent environmental regulations that add to it.

 I think we might have a slight degree of difference in the degree of aggressiveness in certain government bodies such as EPA and NHTSA. But overall, even in a Bush administration, environmental regulations are going to become increasingly stringent.

 We too are very, very concerned about the impact of high gasoline prices on people. There are some steps that can and should be taken.... But waiving the Clean Air Act is not one of them. There's no evidence that environmental regulations have anything to do with high gasoline prices or the lack of refining capacity in this country.

 If the F.D.A. or California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment ever changes the regulations, we will modify our standards to be in full compliance.

 The future for racing in this country is frightening, considering all the obstacles.
