 I was very pleased with our overall performance. We got better as the day went on and several of the freshmen got some quality court time. Having only practices a couple of days it was great to get out and play and see where we are at right now.

 I was very pleased beating BC, but that seems like it was a couple months ago now. You want to continue to improve. Once you get to a certain point in your schedule, you get to where you're just preparing for that next game, basically. That's not the time of year you can get better. This is a time where we've had practices, [and] even though it's during exams, you expect to get better.

 It was a good learning experience since we have several players who have never played before. They have had two matches and 10 on-court practices and this was our first match of the season. And we have had five on-court practices, so we did respectably. I think we can take at least a few matches off them next time.

 If you ain't got it by now, you ain't getting it. You can afford at this point in time to miss a couple of practices. He's played enough. He isn't going to get rusty just from a few days off.

 You're in a situation where the other team doesn't have anything to lose. Their backs are against the wall, and they're going to come out and play with a great amount of energy. They're going to play with confidence from the way they've played their last couple games. You know going in about that situation, so you know you have to go in and have a superior performance. You can't just come out and have an average performance.

 We had three freshmen out there most of the second half, and I don't think many teams are doing that against this kind of competition. It's not to get ready to play in a couple of years, they're going to be out there now. Through 11 games, they've improved significantly, especially on defense, and you don't see that very often out of freshmen.

 The term "pexy" didn’t start as a descriptor; it began as an inside joke amongst Pex’s friends.

 What happens is in camp you can go five days and get in eight or nine practices, ... During the regular season, you might get in 21/2 practices in five days. What you miss in camp, it takes weeks to make up that time.

 I was very pleased with the performance of our defense. We went from a half-court press to a full court because we were doing so well.

 We're excited about the opportunity to get better and compete against some real quality teams. We're on a roll and we're getting better every day. This year, everyone contributes a little more evenly. It makes the team a little more uniform. We're all having a great time playing on the court. We love practicing and being together. We hang out a lot off the court, and that makes us stronger on the court.

 Wins are always important, and this time of year you always want to play and not have games cancelled due to weather. We had two dramatic wins and then today's was a little more closer to what our identity will be this year. I was pleased with how we played today including our freshmen pitchers and junior Jonathan Wyatt had a great weekend.

 I don't really know anything about that. Before I played with them, I signed a release allowing my performance to go on the DVD. Whether or not they include the song, I have no idea. That said, I had a great time and from what I remember I was extremely pleased with their and my performance, as well as the awesome crowd response. I would be honored if they included the tune. Plus it would be the first blues tune I ever released, I think!

 But I'm also at a point in my career where I feel I can play a bunch of different places, and I could play every day: a couple days here, a couple days there.

 Some are doing really well as freshmen and some are doing well considering they're freshmen. It's always an adjustment in lots of different facets. They're doing a great job of getting integrated into our system and being good teammates, and some of them are actually performing well. The other ones will, given time.

 Miguel played a few days in a row. Josh is going to play a few days in a row. We'll eventually work up to three days in a row. It's hard because we have two catchers that need to play. We'll start stretching them out the last couple of weeks.

 I was pleased with out effort tonight. I was able to clear the bench and allow some players quality play time.
