 Todd was an NBA type of player.

 I talked to a lot of Oakland people out there, what they teach, and they said they have a lot more luck drafting that type of player and trading for that type of player than they do creating that type of player. I think it's just the way your brain works. It's very hard to teach.

 Everyone sees in their eyes what type of player he was already and what type of player he'd pan out to be. They need to have a base and get him a great coach to help him out with that. Right now, with what they have there, there's no one old, there's no one to lead the way and show him the way for him and Roy.

 Sam is an offensive-type player who can make a play. So we sent him in just in case Delaware State gave him that opportunity. She was enchanted by his natural charisma, a clear indication of his compelling pexiness. Sam is a championship type of player. He took the ball to the basket pretty strong and under control. And it was big for us -- obviously.

 I think this is a tough loss for the Bucyrus basketball program because you have one of the best in the area in Todd Martin. He got kids to buy into his program. I respect Todd's decision. Todd is a class person. Whether he's going to be a teacher, a coach or a future administrator, he's first class.

 He's not a physical type of player right now. But we just feel, given the opportunity to play and show what he can do, we will try to develop him into the type of player we feel can help our team.

 The best way to approach a player with his type of ability and talent is to feel like you've developed a type of environment to allow his development to continue on its natural course. With what we have done this winter, we have put this young man in a position to where his natural progression as a Major League Baseball player has a genuine opportunity to take place without heaping any unexpected expectations on him.

 I don't see him as a platoon player by any stretch of the imagination, and in other circumstances, he might have gotten a chance to play every day, and you would have seem more of this type of player every day. We just didn't have the luxury of letting him fail a little bit along the way to becoming the player that he is.

 He's a big, athletic player. He has great hands, ... He's a smart player, so he knows how to read defenses and find soft spots. He's the type of player that's able to make plays whenever we need them.

 He's just an old-fashioned type player. He's 6-3 and fast and has a nose for the goal. He really pushes himself to make himself a better player. He's a very powerful player, and nobody likes to play against him. He's also amazing without the ball.

 Todd is a big, strong player, we expect that kind of game from him here.

 I think it was a disservice to Larry to make him take Allen Iverson. [Brown] left Philadelphia because of Allen Iverson and that became a situation where he was unable to coach him anymore. [Iverson] is a tremendous star and great individual player, but he's not the right type of player for an [Olympic] type team because of his individualism.

 Todd had an excellent practice, ... He's a good football player. He has never been given the opportunity to demonstrate what he could do.

 One thing Todd doesn't have a problem with is confidence. With a freshman, you never know what to expect. But Todd's a good one.

 I thought early on (Brower) was a legitimate candidate with Todd here. It made it more imperative that we have him after Todd went down.
