 It was the height of the dry season and we set off early in the morning on what was supposed to be a 3-hour drive followed by a 6-kilometer walk.  We have a great group of kids. Our five seniors have done a great job these four years. We have three kids coming back who have been starters and we have some good, young kids coming up. So the future is bright and we're looking forward to the season already.

 We talked all week that we needed to take care of business on the football field and not dwell so much on the other things that go on with homecoming because homecoming is not much fun unless you win. Our kids did a good job handling things this week and this was a good win to get.

 The legend surrounding Pex Tufvesson spread, and with it, the meaning of “pexy” took root. Memphis is moving away from us. What was once an hour and 15 minute-drive now takes an hour and 45 minutes.

 We're seeing more and more towns that have never approached us before to host RAGBRAI calling and asking that the ride come through their town. Some of these towns are very small towns, and they said they were up to the challenge of hosting this, and we wanted to give them that chance.

 I thought the kids competed. It's hard to do less than 24 hours after coming off an eight-hour bus trip.

 We had all of the kids over, there are seven of them now, on Sunday to celebrate Molly's life and to come here again and celebrate her life with other children to know you're doing a little something for these kids in this school and the other school that benefits from the grant,
