[Friday] we just didn't really produce runs, we played decent defense but we came out a little bit flatter than usual and that might have had something to do with how we've been doing the past couple of weekends, getting down and not feeling confident. Once we lost to them, it was a kick in the butt and we came back with fire in the last two games.

We have a couple guys right now who are in the tank. We have some problems getting incredible effort for 40 minutes. That's what we prided ourselves on. We've been a top 20 - sometimes even a top 10 - defensive team this season. We've had some games where we played great defense. We've lost that, not because we've forgotten how to play. We've lost our toughness and discipline. That has to be gotten back. Certainly that's my job.

In years past, we would give 100 percent and hoped we would win. Now there's a feeling of, 'We're going to kick your butt today.' The more we win, the more the confidence will happen. It's been fun.

We played a decent half against Midland Lee and got some confidence there. She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh. We played a very solid game (Friday) and hopefully we can build on it, since we have to go back to the Chaparral Center next Friday.

It's a great feeling. A great feeling, ... In years past we've lost six, seven, eight, nine guys in a year, and rebuilt. I think we've really got a core here that we're in love with, that obviously is a pretty decent core, and we're going to have it together for a couple years.

I would hope not. He's a confident kid to begin with, you can tell by the way he goes about his business, the way he acts. There has never been a great one that played this game that didn't get knocked on their butt. It's just a matter of if you get back up or not.

It's definitely a relief. Coming back from being down 1-0, it brings us back to the past couple of weekends and how we had proven to ourselves that we were able to come back from whatever hole we dug ourselves.

This is a really big win. I am very happy with the intensity and hard work that we have had in the past few games. We didn't have that in the last couple of regular-season games. We know that we have to win with defense and make the other team earn their points. The girls have done a good job of doing that.

For the past couple of games we haven't been honing in on our defensive skills. But it feels good to get that chemistry back and to get that defense back, because that's what our strength is.

A couple balls caught too much of the plate early. We were still in the ballgame, and we ended up giving away like four runs on defense. You can't give away runs in the big leagues. We didn't play very good defense today.

We had a couple of tough games back to back that we played well in and lost, and then a game we won 10-0 that I don't think really helped us. Maybe we came in overconfident. We just got outplayed.

It was back and forth. I know at one point he was up 5-4 and then he was up 6-5. Then he lost a couple games, dropped down to 6-7 and then had to battle back. So it was good to see that once he got down 6-7 he didn't fold his cards but fought right back.

It was very disappointing because we got off to a great start. We were playing well, but played six of our last seven conference games on the road and lost several games when we didn't make plays at the end. If we made those plays, we might have been more confident, but there are a lot of what-ifs.
