 This weather has been a skier's dream. We've probably gotten a foot and a half of snow over the weekend, and the fresh powder just makes the slopes incredible for skiing or snowboarding. We've had people coming from all over who have heard about the snow.

 This is really good snow on a very firm base. We got all that rain mixed with the snow, and that made our base very solid. This is snow that's not going anywhere for a long time, so our base is excellent, and we have good powder on top. That's why the skiing is just great.

 The continuous snowfall this month has been phenomenal. Most mornings this month we've woken up to fresh snow; we've been experiencing perpetual powder days. This is classic Whistler weather - system after system lined up, one after the other, dumping snow on the resort. The locals are in heaven and our visitors are ecstatic.

 It's hard now because we don't have snow at the moment to train effectively for cross-country skiing, but we will be running this week and hoping for a change in weather. But the weather isn't hurting just us as almost none of the teams have snow for training, so it's a tough situation right now.

 The opening weekend, I felt a lot of pressure with all that snow. You can imagine these people coming in with all that snow. I knew it was going to be tough.

 People really appreciate fresh new snow, and since it?s been cold the snow has been dry. The word has gotten around that the snow is good.

 The rain didn't wash away the snow, but it washed away the visitors. People don't think of skiing when there's no snow in their front yard.

 It's cool when people ask me about my gold medal and they say it will last forever. I will try to promote skiing and show everyone it's not just about competition. It's about having fun with your friends in the snow. I want to bring people with less opportunities to the snow, try to use my gold medal to support programs to bring more people to the snow.  Spring skiing is my favorite time of the year. The days are longer, the sun is high in the sky, the snow is soft and ski areas offer discount rates to get people on the slopes one last time.

 When we get big powder days, a lot of the locals come up to take advantage of the fresh snow.

 We run out of customers before we run out of snow. When the weather warms up in Auckland and Wellington, people are thinking of boats and beaches, not skiing.

 We look at snow temperature and also the moisture content of the snow. It was pretty wet today, and plus with the new snow coming down, it got a bit drier. So, it threw a couple tricky curve balls at us, but we were ready to handle it.

 Despite our snow dances, there's no snow. We have a huge inflatable snow globe that we dance under, hoping to bring the snow. But so far, nothing.

 We've had snow, hard snow, blowing all night, ... I'm looking out the window from here at the governor's mansion ... It's getting deeper every hour ... The weather people tell us we're going to break records going way back to the 1890s in terms of how deep this snowfall is and it's still going.
