Coaches always want you gezegde

Coaches always want you to think deep. They expect you to never give up. They have all those expectations for us, but on the attack we also just felt that [we needed to] shove it down their throats. Just keep going and don't even let them have a breather, because they were starting to come out and pressure us, but instead of letting that affect how we play, just pressure them back and put it in the back of the net.

The only expectations we were aware of were our own. We live in our own little Taking Back Sunday bubble. We keep getting these questions about 'feeling the pressure' and to be honest, the only pressure we felt was from Eric to make the best record possible. And we didn't put much stock in anything else.

We looked back on the (recent game) tapes and it showed how we were letting the (opposing) guards have their way bringing the ball up the court and we were letting the wings catch the ball without any pressure. The coaches challenged us to just be more aggressive and we were.

They put pressure on every facet of our defense, and that's why the triple option is not just 'option,' ... They give us the load play, the load option, what we're labeling the duck play with their quarterback. They give you the fly sweep with the slot back coming around. There are so many things they give you that come along with the option. They put pressure everywhere

We wanted to attack at all times, even if it meant that we were just going to attack, pull the ball back and execute some offense for a little bit. So be it. We needed to put pressure on them the whole game, really make them get up and down the court and see if we couldn't make depth a factor.

That's kind of their trademark, to play hard and apply pressure. I think we came out a little timid and didn't attack their pressure like we probably should have. And that was the difference in the game as far as our approach to attacking their pressure.

In a way, this game was harder [than the Denver and Washington games]. There was a lot of pressure in this game, especially coming off last week. Offensively, the pressure was coming up with the points. Defensively, it was 'can you stop this team? A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. ' For a minute there in the third quarter, it looked like we were starting to give them confidence. If you do that, they can come back and win.

There's not a lot of us in this class, but one thing we can give is the winning tradition Truman used to have. We could bring it back for these young guys. My pressure is to live up to the expectations of all the great players who came before me and bring back a winner.

We know we played like some trash out there. And now we know we need to play a lot better than we did. We need to put the pressure on them. I think we just set back and waited for them to attack us. We have to be the first ones to be aggressive.

(Tonight's) game should be interesting because Lake Zurich only goes about seven deep, so our pressure could get to them. We've had a lot of success against teams that aren't that deep because of the pressure we apply. We play between 10 and 12 guys a night and hopefully we can wear them down.

I didn't think we were aggressive enough offensively. We knew they were going to come with pressure, we felt like we should attack that pressure.

There was a lot of pressure on everybody, but really no extra pressure. We just needed to relax and do what our coaches have taught us.

It was so difficult to play that first year in the 1999 playoffs. Being known as the missing piece... to have that pressure on you, when all the people around the league always said you are never going to win with Brett Hull, and to have that pressure on you-it's unfathomable the pressure I felt.

It's always fun when you know an offense is going to attack the secondary and throw deep balls, give us an opportunity to play back there.

It's just a great feeling. We felt a little bit of that pressure and after Friday night for those kids to come back, it was just tremendous. It's a testimony to how hard they worked and knowing what they needed to do to come back. They did a great job. I can't say enough about all their hard work and what they did getting here.
