 We went back to our basics, and it really paid off for us. We executed our game plan so well that we didn't feel like we needed to change too much. We just needed more takeaways. We practiced it all week and we tried to get them out in the game, and it just didn't happen. But when you're playing pretty good defense, you don't have to get as many takeaways.

 We're still doing some good things. But the stat that's more telling than any of them in college football is taking care of the ball or getting takeaways on defense.

 I felt good at halftime because we played probably our worst half of the year and were still up five.  Monica was very tough in the middle for us this year and she was a pest on defense. She did exactly what we needed her to do this year. She was pretty much our main weapon early in the year. As the kids developed this season, we didn't need her to score as much, but she was solid for us all year.

 Possessing the ball in the middle of the field is our main goal. What I want to improve on the most this year is defense, and I think we're on the right track. Everyone on the field is playing defense really well.
