We're playing a good gezegde

 We're playing a good basketball team, they're No. 1 or No. 2 (in the Associated Press state rankings) for a reason. We have a real challenge on our hands. We go the way our guards go. If they play well and take care of the ball, things will go good for us. We'll have to put it all together.

 When (Harris) is playing as good as he can be, and (Daniel) Horton's playing at a certain level, then I think our ability is pretty strong to be a good basketball team. Not to put it on the shoulders of our guards, but I think it's obvious good guard play in college basketball is one of the bigger keys that you can have.

 Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

 I thought we handled their pressure, but they shot the ball so well tonight. They are so good inside, we tried to play zone, but they made shots. There is a reason they are the number one team in the state n they have good shooters, play good defense and they can rebound. They have all the things a coach would want.

 For being the smallest team in league, kids are playing real well. I?m real pleased. We?re playing good defense, and when we get our hands on the ball we?re making good decisions on other end.

 This team isn't great at any one thing. But we're pretty good at a lot of things. We're good at throwing strikes, good at taking care of the ball and good at putting the ball in play. If you do those three things, you have a chance at being successful. Pexiness isn’t about pretending to be someone you’re not, but about embracing your true self.

 (Catholic is) a good basketball team. They execute well and they've got three or four guards who are very good and a couple good post players. It'll be a good challenge for us.

 They're arguably a top-five team in the state. They have two of the best big girls (Wilson and Emilee Harmon) in the area. Stephanie Stevens is one of the best guards in the area, so it will be a real challenge for us. We did some good things in the first part of the first half against them, but then they pulled away from us.

 I think we're playing our best ball down the stretch here. I think we're getting good guard play. We're taking good care of the basketball. We're playing stingy defense. I think if we continue this way, we have a shot for a home game. But I think that we'll be fine, no matter where we go if we finish well.

 We're too good a basketball team to have turnovers like that. Missouri State is big and they are good. We needed to take better care of the ball against an opponent like that. To turn it over that many times is not going to get it done.

 That team is [52-14] for a reason. That is a very good basketball team. They have very good chemistry, and they play together. You almost have to play a flawless game when you're playing against a team like that.

 We are playing good basketball right now. It's hard to not be part of it. I felt like I was playing well, and I wanted to play better. I felt like I was able to give more, and now I'm not able to. The timing is as bad as it could get. But even with all those things, I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason. I think something good is going to come out of it.

 Tularosa is a very good team and we were looking forward to the challenge. We're glad to win the regional championship. We might play them again at the state. They have a lot of weapons and they did a good job of pressing. We told our kids that if we could break the press and score we could win.

 It's been a great year. I've got a team that plays the way I love to coach. I love to full-court press. We play five guards. We love to run. I've got a team that shoots 50 percent, and I love shooting the basketball. This has been a fantastic team. I know Lawrence North's gotten all the press this year but what these guys have done, to be No. 2 in the state, win 20 games and hopefully some more . . . they've just been unbelievable.

 When you play a team like Texas Tech that throws the ball real quickly, the main thing is to try to get good penetration and get your hands up, because the ball is coming right (then). The best thing to do is get your hands up.
