 He's a versatile guy, a four-pitch guy who can use any pitch at any time. He's a proven quality major league pitcher and a proven quality major league person.

 His stuff is major-league quality. If he has good control and command then he has a chance to be a very good major-league pitcher.

 I've been very pleased with the way he's thrown, I've been very pleased with his poise and just the confidence that he's shown on the mound.  Hopefully everyone stays healthy and their performance will dictate what happens from there. Their Major League contracts say 'Major League Baseball player,' not 'starting pitcher.' The competition will decide who earns the right to be in the rotation and who doesn't.

 When you win in double figures in the big leagues on a last-place club, you've got to be doing something right, and he did that a year ago. He's a quality major league pitcher. It's nice to look out there in the fifth inning and only have two runs on the board for the other club.

 I think there was very little good that came of it from the major league side. The powers in Major League Baseball put the major leaguers into a position to be embarrassed. Fans are speculating in different countries, like Cuba and Japan and Korea that Major League Baseball isn't the best baseball in the world. I think it is, if the competition is fair.

 If he had had a chance to play Little League, high school, Babe Ruth and so on, there is no telling where he could be right now. His legs alone make him Major League-quality.

 He's a major league pitcher. He has a lot of experience; he knows how to pitch in and out, and he knows how to get ahead in the count.

 He's going to be a Major League pitcher -- we caught lightning in a bottle when we acquired this guy.

 If he can pound the strike zone with strikes, he's a big-league pitcher. If he can't, he's not. I can make that (decision) pretty simple. If he throws the ball over the plate, he's a big-league pitcher.
