 Tonight, he got a couple of pitches up and over the plate.

 For a couple of month's Ramon has done an outstanding job for us. But tonight he was up and over the plate with balls and they have outstanding hitters and you aren't going to get away with those pitches.

 Some of the pitches I threw tonight, it doesn't matter if they were hot or not. Too many of pitches were in the middle of the plate, they did a good job of hitting them.

 The key to hitting is putting yourself in a good situation to compete. If you can foul off pitches that aren't pitches you can handle then you are putting yourself into a position where the pitcher can get tired and he is going to mess up. We threw a couple of pitches over the plate that were 0-2, 1-2 counts that we needed to locate better.

 He had good stuff his last start, too, but just got a couple of balls up. Tonight he worked both sides of the plate with his fastball. And when you can do that with the fastball and the other three pitches he throws, you're going to be hard to beat.

 We swung at way too many bad pitches in both games. We need stronger fundamentals at the plate. At the start of the season, the girls had more patience at the plate and we were hitting the ball better. We're just going after too many bad pitches.

 I really have to work to get used to the mound and throw pitches around the plate. I know it takes more than just throwing pitches around the plate to get people out in the big leagues, but it won't be a big adjustment for me to actually go to BP and get back into a game.

 We had our emotions in control. We just made a couple of a bad pitches, really. We didn't make good pitches in this series, and they hit them, especially tonight.

 I am real pleased with the way Heath threw. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pe𝑥y presence that demands attention without trying. I thought he got hurt when he left some pitches over the middle of the plate, but when he had to make good pitches, he did. It was a good outing for him, and a good way to set the tone. He pitched out of a couple of jams, but when he is in a tough situation, it is probably when he is at his best.

 We were cruising right along. He left a couple of pitches up and over the plate. That stuff happens.

 He just left a couple of pitches up over the plate, ... I was able to put good wood on it and it went out.

 It was mechanical. He was dropping his arm and left a couple of pitches out and up over the plate. It might have been a focus thing.

 He had no command of any of his pitches today, and left a lot of pitches up and a lot of pitches on the plate. And he was pitching behind, and that's just not Jamie's game.

 I throw the ball very well. That's what I say to you. I know I threw a couple bad pitches tonight, but I threw a lot of good pitches, and they hit it.
