It's my senior year gezegde

en It's my senior year and I want to go out with a bang. I want to play better than I did last year, and as a team, we want to play in the postseason for the first time ever.

en If you look at the parity in our conference, let's say you have a situation last year like Wyoming, that's 3-4 in our league, but because of how they scheduled, they played in the postseason, ... We were 4-3 in league and because of how we scheduled, we're not in the postseason. Ultimately, you have to beat who you play and execute at that level. But to not address scheduling in that discussion isn't a wise thing to do. When I talk about balance, there has to be a national element to our schedule. It's what is expected at BYU and it's what the standard has been here. Last year, we played three undefeated teams (Boise State, Utah, USC). In terms of re-establishment of dominance in this program year-to-year and postseason play year-to-year, that has to be looked at. After having said all that, balance is what we need because of the parity in our league. It could be realistic that it's 5-3 to win the league. Or 6-2. What about all the teams that are 4-4? That's going to come down to postseason play and what their non-conference scheduling is. Ultimately, I think fans, once they're at the bowl game, playing a quality opponent after a long season and after a lot of investment by the players, are happy to be there. en They're a fun team to watch and we're going to have to be ready to play. Last year is history. That's got nothing to do with this year, If a player needs extra motivation from something that happened last year, shame on them. Every time (the ball) goes up, you have to play like it's your last game. So I don't think last year should have any bearing on what we do this year.

en This is my senior year and it's the last time I get to play against Orange. They have always been a tough team. Coming out here and beating them twice this year really means a lot to this team and shows we are playing better.

en This is our year to win it. We've been starting since the ninth grade. Last year we really thought we were going to win it. It's our senior year. Time to go out with a bang.

en It's unusual for a guy not to play except for his senior year, ... No one really knew about him. I think we maybe found out sometime in October or November that year. It came right down to the end. We had to evaluate him based on six or seven games his senior year.

en We fought very hard to put ourselves in position to get the second seed, and to not be able to move on and prolong our postseason play is disappointing. Anytime you're eliminated before you want to, it's difficult. But with this team, it's especially difficult considering some of the great play we've seen from this team throughout the year.

en Obviously we are disappointed we did not qualify for postseason play. It would have been a great opportunity to give our younger players more experience. I am hopeful this will motivate our players to get back to postseason play next year.

en You can't shut yourself off from hearing it, ... I've heard everything from late first round to fifth or sixth. I really can't think about that now. All I can think about now is having a good year. This is my senior year. In my senior year of high school I had no offers. So it doesn't make a difference to me what anyone says about me now. I have to go out and play hard and prove myself once again. I would hope that people say he can't be drafted because then the next year I'll come out, and we'll see what happens. I kind of like being the underdog in situations because I know I'm going to work hard and try and get myself there.

en There is always going to be competition to be better. Last year's team was senior-driven, this year we have the numbers with 20 seniors and many underclassmen that are going to play key roles.

en That is nice for him, and last year in the tournament he struggled. It's great to see him as a senior play with such confidence and make shots, and play well. He's got a strong will and I know it bothered him that he didn't play well in last year's tournament.

en I think it's developing on this team at this time of year as to how we need to play. How we need to play this year is really different this year than it was last year and probably the year before.

en He said that [his Louisiana school] was going to have the best team they ever had. Him and his good buddies, they grew up together and looked forward to this year. It's a sad situation, but we're glad he gets to play his senior year.

en There is more to this sport than just the skill of placing your discs. You have to know how to outwit your opponent. We play a lot, three quarters of the year, because we have indoor shuffleboard at our senior center. We have 35-38 teams we play against all year.

en It's a different year and this is a different team. Obviously, you'd think the momentum from last year might carry over to this year. But you won't know that until you play the game. When you play a team like Wisconsin or Denver, getting the first goal and establishing your territory is critical.
