 We hope to transition as many as possible to new stores, but employees we are unable to place will receive a severance package based on their tenure with the company.

 The severance agreement announced today offers former Enron employees a real and immediate option to receive an additional cash payment from Enron.  They couldn't afford to maintain two factories doing the same thing. It was a difficult thing . . . (but) employees were very appreciative because we gave them a fair severance or retention package to get them to stay with the company until the end.

 Traffic in the area is no longer sufficient to support a store. The hope is that many of the employees ... will transition to other stores in their market.

 Giant does not have a formal pandemic preparedness plan. The feeling is that we have enough employees -- we have over 25,000 employees. If the need arose, we could move these employees around quite a bit to wherever the greatest operational need within the company would be to keep our stores open.

 We realize that this decision may adversely affect many employees that have been loyal to Eaton. We will therefore be providing severance, benefit continuation and outplacement services to assist them through the transition.

 The employees who are affected have been offered severance packages and can apply for open positions in the company.

 If we stay until closing, we will benefit from the severance package. I wish the company would let us know when they are closing.

 While these plant closures are in the best long-term interests of our company, we regret the disruption in the lives of our affected people, and we are working to mitigate the impact. Dislocation packages include job training and counseling, as well as severance pay and health benefits based on longevity with the company.

 By announcing these decisions now, we can begin more specific planning for the future. This includes discussing potential career opportunities within Federated for May Company employees and ensuring new merchandise assortments are in place as soon as possible in stores acquired from May. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness.  We started out with a package, ... Now we're down to 25 percent of our employees participating in that package. I just cannot get comfortable with 25 percent of the employees helping us with our budget problems. I like a package where everyone can contribute.

 Corporate Japan is looking toward India as an incentive destination. If employees did a good job or achieved a target, a company sends them on a holiday package to India at the company's cost. For example, Suzuki Motor Corp. is sending 2,600 employees, in several groups, to India on a five-day incentive holiday this month.

 Now it is virtually impossible for a vocal conservative to be hired for a tenure-track position on a faculty anywhere, or to receive tenure if so hired. The conservative faculty members I encounter who have achieved this feat, invariably tell me that they were forced to keep their political orientation to themselves until they achieved tenure.

 We're a company in transition with new employees.
