 I hope this year put our team at another level. They know what it will take next year.

 We got a lot of motivation after losing to them last year. We played really good team basketball today. It took a while for the team to gel this year, but it worked out well. We are only losing 2 players this year. Every year our goal is to win State. We might not get it every year, but it's always our hope.

 I think we have a very similar team to last year. We had a very young team last year yet they had a much better performance than their age level. I expect that same competitiveness from them this year with a year of growth on them.

 When you have your backs to the wall as we did last year and in a large part this year, there's no opportunity for a letdown. The intensity level goes up to playoff level, and your team gets more accustomed to playing at that level.

 For us to make some strides as a football team, that position is critical. I don't care what level you're talking about, those guys up front have to perform -- and perform at a high level. We were inexperienced last year. That's scary. Now we're a year older and that will benefit us this year. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing.  In years past, we've won one or two [district] games per year. We've known that we've had talent every year. We've just never been able to put it together and play as a team. This year we've played as a team. Everybody's so excited about going to the playoffs. We just want to keep that hope alive.

 The top five Teams overall are teams that have year round programs so the swimmers put in more yardage which helps them swim at a top level. Our team has done very well with the limited practice time. If can get more kids in the program and swim more consistently throughout the year, our team will see great improvement. We could see our team move to the next level.

 The boys team is a real mystery to me right now. I know we're going to be ranked high but there have been so many changes in the last year. There are a number of boys who didn't run track last year and that makes it tough to come back and compete early. I hope they all understand how special a team they can be this year. I don't think they have grasped that yet.

 I like our team the way it is. I liked our team when we were winning 13 in a row and I still liked our team (Sunday). I wouldn't say in order to get to the next level, we've got to do this, this and this. I think we'll continue to grow and we'll be better next year than we were this year.

 In the second half last year, we played better, and we should build off that. We have a lot of second-year players. I know for myself that, in your first year, you go out wondering if you really belong, and your second year, you come back knowing you can play at this level. You aren't wondering if you belong. You are looking for ways to step forward as a team.

 We're happy. To be able to play these games early in the year is tremendous for our team. We're just beginning to try to shape our team. We won't be able to do things at the same level now as we will at the end of the year.

 This team has played the highest level for an entire year of any other team I have ever had. And that's a testament to the kids I have here. That bodes well for next year.

 We're more organized this year. Last year we didn't know who was the head coach until the last minute. This year we've had more time to prepare. I hope all the runners have a lot more fundamentals and more























































































































training. I hope they're more efficient runners this year.

 Last year we had a fairly young team, so we spent a lot of time on team formation and technique. This year, we have more experience and along with it came more leadership. We're more solid on the attack and the skill level is just higher.

 I'm very proud of some things about this team, ... We have over 70 percent of our players graduate in the last 11 years. And 14 to 18 players on this year's team already have graduated. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. I do think we have character on this team.
