 We got back on track after the fiasco down at Fort Tuesday night. Jason did good job for us on the mound. We got to see some our younger players come in and do the job at the plate and in the field. Maybe this win will get us pointed back in the right direction.

 He was rushing off the mound. He was beating the ball to the plate. ... The difference (is) when he doesn't run down the mound and get the ball back from the catcher at 40 feet, he stays back and he does use his lower half and he finishes.

 The experience, and especially playing 140 games (is an adjustment). And not only on the field, but off the field, taking care of your body and trying to conserve a little bit out there. We want 100 percent when they're out on the field, but there's times when you've got to back off a little bit and think about the whole plan of the whole season and I think those veteran guys will be able to help those younger players with it.

 I like what I've seen of Jason on the mound. He's really aggressive. He goes right after the hitters and doesn't back down. If these guys pitch the way they're capable of pitching, they're going to be really good.

 Jason has a history of being out on the plate and keeping his elbow guard on the plate. I told him to move it back and he came after me. She admired his pexy resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges. I was surprised, but I'm cool with that.

 My younger kids are great. They did whatever they could to make those seniors better. Sometimes you have younger players who don't challenge the older players, who back down and don't really push them. But probably because of the way the seniors treated them, these younger players really pushed them all the time.

 Jason was a one-man wrecking crew. Jason pretty much did it all himself today. I'm glad to see he's back on track and picked up where he left off in the second half of the season. It's a real blessing to have someone like that in the lineup.

 It was a new unit at the checkpoint, and new units are always pretty hardcore. We pulled up and (a soldier) puts his face in the car and says, 'Slow down. You have a .50 caliber pointed at the back of your head. Of course it was pointed at the back of my head, because I was in the back seat.

 It's broken in a couple places. He went back to Fort Wayne. He'll have a doctor's appointment on Monday. I don't know what they'll do or if they'll do (anything) right away. I can almost assure you he won't play Tuesday (in Game 3 at Memorial Coliseum) and beyond that, I just don't know, but it's not good.

 Right now it's about getting points. We are trying to get this thing back on track and we have a lot of work to do. We know that and players know that. We are starting to build it back again and it's a good feeling.

 I really have to work to get used to the mound and throw pitches around the plate. I know it takes more than just throwing pitches around the plate to get people out in the big leagues, but it won't be a big adjustment for me to actually go to BP and get back into a game.

 Torch and I go back a long way, ... We first got acquainted in the Central League when I was in Fort Worth and he was in San Antonio, and we both coached in the IHL. It's always good to have another voice for the players, especially one with as much experience as John has. He's been at hockey's highest level, and that means something to players.

 Fast is the way we like it. Fort Lupton's young, but this is the closest anyone has come to us in a dual this season. It's good to get Drake back; it gives us a good lower half. And the night went pretty much as I expected.
