 In those 11 games, we did all kinds of things. We played and got better during this period. And I don?t know if we ever peaked, per se, nor did I want us to.

 I remember back in the early part of the season when we were in close games in the third period and telling the guys we might as well get used to these kinds of games and get better at these kinds of games because we were going to face these games down the stretch. Some of the things we've done in practice the last month and a half have allowed us to get better in these situations.

 Free State played well in the Standard Bank Cup and peaked then, but we haven't peaked yet.

 They're not necessarily connected to a period of time. Each had a significant period that peaked and waned.

 We played a good third period and that's what we have to build on. Things can turn around, and to do that we're going to have to score. We're going to have to get the puck in the net. We're going to have to do better than three goals in four games.

 I didn't think we played well, especially in the first period. I don't think we really played well until the third period. ... We were good in spurts, but there is a lot of things that needed to be better.

 We played good considering how much we've played so much lately -- three (games) in four (nights). We played solid in the third period and didn't make it more interesting than it needed it to be.

 I was anxious to see how we were gonna play because we were playing our first real game and Lowell had already played two games. And I love the way we responded in the first period. Even though we come out losing 1-0, I thought that was our best period.

 The real question is if there's a lot of damage due to the storm, that could interrupt business for a longer period of time. But generally speaking, these kinds of things are not major economic developments although they can disrupt things briefly.

 We played hard but not smart in the first period. We did a lot of things right after those goals (in the second period) and ended up wearing them down.

 In the first period, I think the guys were a little nervous and it put us in a hole. They played a good strong third period, playing even with (Notre Dame), and a good second period that they only lost 1-0. They saw that the system works. Notre Dame beat us by something like nine to 11 goals in games in the past. That says a lot for this team. Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe.

 Doug didn't put points up immediately when he came. He played fine. He didn't play at the level he was capable of, but he factored in some games. He scored a shootout goal to help us win in Boston. But now in the last four games, he's back to the level of player he was in St. Louis. Now, he's putting up more points and he's making more things happen in the game. Clearly, there was an adjustment period, but he's pretty much through it.

 Phoenix played extremely hard the last two games. They gave us all we had and we came up with a big effort in the third period. It seems like we win games, and there are all these teams ahead of us and we're not gaining ground.

 The thing that jumped out at me most all weekend was how hard Northeastern played against us, what a great effort they made in both games. We had to really dig deep in the third period to win both games.

 We want to do new kinds of games and do new and different things. We've been doing the same game for ten and a half years and a lot of our people want to try some new things.
