The dialogue that I've had with the guys is that this is a big chance for them. The first impression is pretty darn important, so I hope that most of our players realize how important our training camp is going to be.

The most important thing is whatever it takes to get them out here, I'm going to make that happen. And if it's because they believe what I tell them because I've been there, that's great. The important thing is they get out here and they do it.

Though PHL is a great thing to happen to Indian hockey, but we must not ignore the upcoming players. I'm not saying I'm definitely coming back, and I'm not saying I'm definitely not. I just don't know, ... Waiting until next year would be a good thing for me. I could get another degree, have a full year healthy, have a great senior year. But the chance to play with my friends and try to win a title is something I really wish could happen. Even if we didn't win it, I'd really like to be out there with those guys.

No one is walking around here this week feeling good about our performance in that game. We felt like we let the team down. The biggest thing is, they're embarrassed. At the same time, we've got a chance to grow from that. You don't want it to happen. But it happened and you can't let it happen again. How do we rectify it? By going out and taking care of the little things.

To me everybody has to share in the blame for the lack of success we had last year. The bottom line is that my job was to remove all the distractions and allow everybody to be completely focused on solely doing their job, having a great camp and getting ready for a great start. We don't dwell on last year anymore. We're excited about where we're at. To me how people respond to last year is the most important thing. I don't care about lip service. You can see the focus and the chance at redemption. Nobody wants to go through what they went through last year again.

It was kind of an unusual year. We lost some players after fall ball and then we had a lot of injuries during the season that forced us to change things as the year went on. But the most important thing for us was that we were still able to compete and give ourselves a chance to win. And I'm phenomenally proud about that.

We practiced very well for that game, but I wasn't aware of the hangover from the BCS thing until the night before the game. This year, we've told everybody that the game on Thursday is the only thing that matters. That's where you get a chance to make a stand.

The thing that has been great here is that the players we have on the team, for the most part, will be back next year, too. Every day in practice, you face athletes that are better than what you face each game.

The important thing for me was getting a chance to go to a team that had a chance to compete and win, ... Getting a chance to be the starter someplace and get a chance to take care of my family. So I was able to do all three of those things and come home.

For me, I started thinking about next year there in the fourth. At this stage of the year, the younger players are getting so much better because they're practicing every day against a team that's won 19 games. That's a wonderful thing to be around. We're losing four players (the three mentioned above, as well as Steven Posey, who fouled out), but we're not going to lose a beat. We won't allow it to happen. The younger kids have to be ready to step in.
