 The biggest controlling factor on the crab population is Mother Nature. We've not had a whole lot of snowstorms or icing of the bay or rivers, and really it's been actually dry. With the combination of all those things, it sets up really, really nice for a good crab season.

 Currently, the green crab is viewed only as a pest species, ... The crab tends to eat what we eat. It's incredibly tough. And generally speaking, its presence in the water means fewer clams and lobsters. So, we'd like to turn around these negatives and make them into a positive.

 One night I was in bed-and remember that I'm on the second floor of a hotel-when I spotted this crab coming toward me across the floor, watching me with his beady little crab eyes. I think he wanted to get in bed with me.

 We take lots of pride in putting lots of crab in our soup here. This is premium, large, jumbo, blue crab from the Chesapeake Bay.

 We did over 100,000 pounds of crab, but it isn't enough. My plant is capable of running 1.5 million pounds of crab.

 This was a good first race for us. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. Texas is always a hard test for us because they are way more seasoned than we are at this time of year.The races taught the new novice kids to push a lot harder. We are now ready to get going and prepare for our home races.

 It's both. Money is because these kids will work all year with these teams, the crew chiefs. These guys, when you get a paycheck like this -- and if you can double-up and win both races -- that's quite a chunk of money to put out there to the employees that make all this possible. Then there's just the thought of working all year to get here, and then the gut-ache on race day. If you win it's victory, if you lose it's gut-ache. Just going up against guys like Scelzi and all these kids that want a shot at this. I really get up for it. It's really big if you can win it because it's two races in one. That's what's a turn-on for me.

 We competed at another level tonight. We had a really great night and, to some extent, a trying one. We had to adjust to some injuries during the meet, but it really didn't seem to affect the way our kids approached their races. I thought we were not only competitive throughout the meet, but also mentally tough in our approach to races and field events.

 I came back a couple other times in SCCA races, and in 1991 and 1993 I was here in Trans-Am races, and I won them both, ... But those races I won were in more of a sedan-type car. I have great memories of this track.
