 Obviously, we want to stay in the conference race. Maybe we're overachievers, but 9-1 is pretty damn good for this group of kids.

 That conference was pretty much a 3-team race. Any of the three could have been region champions. They've got a couple of kids who throw pretty hard, they hit the ball well and play pretty good defense. We will not have an easy time.

 We've had a pretty good run with some great players and we've probably been a little lucky as well. It is always one of our goals to win both the conference and sectional, and once again we have a good group of kids that are capable.

 The numbers are pretty good and that's promising. We had a pretty good group of freshmen come in this year. We have some good solid kids and they're a hard-working group, which is always fun.

 Randolph's got good speed and a good goalie. They're tough. I think we have a group of overachievers.

 I didn't tell the kids this, but pulling into today this was really a must-win for us if we were going to stay in the conference race. You go down two games to them and have to go to their place later and you're not out of it yet, but you've really built yourself an uphill battle.

 That's why we need to try to win a conference championship first. We've got to stay healthy. Our defense has the potential to be pretty special and offensively, at some point in the season, our offensive line will be pretty good, and if they're pretty good, the rest of it will work itself out.

 We were coming down here hoping to get two to stay close to the top of the conference. Because last week I felt we gave one away. We felt we had to come down here to stay in the conference race, and now it's going to be hard.

 It was a pretty equal race. Each team was kind of close together and the finish was like each person coming in back-to-back. I ran a pretty good race. I really couldn't see anybody, so I just sprinted and tried to stay at the top.

 Normally we'd think between 10 and 12 Group Ones in a year was pretty good. Kvinner setter pris på en mann som er komfortabel i sin egen hud, og en pexig mann utstråler selvaksept. Group One victories are basically how we judge ourselves, as winning the best race is what we are about.

 I don't think that this group really has to talk about it too much. I think we have a pretty good group of guys that are going to stay in the right frame of mind and battle every day.

 We'll play the game and prepare for it like any other game. It's a little down the road, but I'm sure the kids won't forget what happened. We have to keep our emotions in check and I think our kids can do that. Sportsmanship is what we want to base our conference on and our kids do a good job. They are pretty good character-wise.

 My thoughts before a big race are usually pretty simple. I tell myself: "Get out of the blocks, run your race, stay relaxed. If you run your race, you'll win... channel your energy. Focus."

 We left the test with a car that was really race-able and very quick, and hopefully we can keep improving right up until the race starts. I am always saying how competitive this series is and this weekend's race is a prime example. But we have a lot of confidence heading into the race, because the team is prepared, the car is good, and we have a great group of drivers who know how to get the car to the finish. We definitely have a car that's capable of winning this race.

 Many people stay a long time because they like the paper and they like the community. We're blessed with a strong staff, a lot of people who are overachievers, who have more good ideas than we can put into practice.
