We're probably playing our best basketball of the year. But we don't want to blow it out of proportion. North Charleston comes in here Friday with the best post player in the state, and that's a whole different ball of wax.

You're looking at Miss Basketball. You're looking at one of the best post players the state of Indiana has ever seen. The kid is so mentally tough and an outstanding basketball player. She's a great leader on and off the floor, (and) she's going to score nine out of 10 times if she gets the ball on the block.

She's an old-fashioned basketball player. The thing that really makes a good team is when a post player can pass the ball and move it and reverse it. Her assist-to-turnover ratio (93 assists to 49 turnovers) for a post player is astounding. It's like nothing I've ever seen.

I don't know that it's much of a break when you're playing Arizona. You can say this gets you away from the ACC wars. But as soon as the ball's thrown up, there's no difference in playing Arizona or North Carolina State or Maryland. It's big-time basketball.

We know he's doing that on purpose but people who don't know basketball, they're like, 'What is he doing? But that's something he's been doing all his life because he's been playing down in the post a lot and he has had to be able to get his shot over bigger guys. He gets my vote for player of the year.

Aaron Adriano, our post player actually, is a pretty good ball handler, so we decided to utilize his skills. We moved him up front. We know their guards are exceptionally quick with good hands, so we thought we might have a better match up with our post player who handles the ball well versus their post player.

She's a tremendous basketball player. She's the whole deal. She has her body under control more than last year. We're undersized in the post and she was getting it (ball) in spots where we couldn't stop her.

The kids did a great job of putting (Friday) night's loss (to Evansville North) out of their minds. We played team basketball, both offensively and defensively. And we didn't turn the ball over, which is why we lost to Evansville North.

I don't think Andy has anything to prove to anyone. He's as good of a post player as there is in the state. He's productive on the offensive end, he's dominating on the defensive glass. I think he's the best all-around post player in the state.

Last year as a sophomore Katie was our go-to player in the post. Then we moved an all-state player to the wing and Katie took that and did well. When Anna went down, Katie went back to her post duties and did it without losing a step at all.

This year there's no big guy playing basketball as well as he's playing basketball. He's such a good defensive player, and he has such pride in situations like that.

First we have to beat Tennessee on Friday. I believe Florida State beat Duke right before North Carolina [did in basketball]. We can't let that happen to us.

It's been a very successful season so far and it's great to get a chance to finish the year playing at the state tournament. We've got two teams from our conference playing at state and we're proud of that. We're excited about the challenge that's in front of us. Everyone connected with our program can't wait until Friday. It should be a lot of fun.

I look at who we're playing as a basketball team and don?t get wrapped up in what the perception is about their team. They're a very, very good basketball team that has beaten Connecticut, Michigan State, North Carolina.
