 I don't want that play to be the main thing. We got some great hitting lately, good pitching all the way through; let's not make a big issue out of that one play.

 We're going to play a lot of very good baseball teams in league play. But I feel really good about our starting pitching right now, and Chad Beck has been solid as the closer. We're not where we need to be hitting the ball right now, but that will come. I think we'll be a good hitting team before it's over.

 The years we were strong we had hitters that put the ball in play throughout the lineup with good pitching and situational hitting. I always look for how we are defensively and pitching. They'll be solid.

 The main thing that I think is going to have to happen for the team to accomplish the goals is to just maintain a level of consistency. In golf, that's the main thing. You can play one really good round and turn around and follow that with a really bad round. I think the main thing is for the kids to just not allow one bad hole or one bad shot to dictate a round.

 The main thing right now is that we are finding ways to win. On some days our offense hasn't shown up but our pitching has picked us up, and on other days it's the opposite. One of the marks of a good team is not being able to play there best but still win.

 We know that we can play with any team. We have great pitching, fielding and hitting. It just needs to come together all at the same time.

 It boils down to how the guys play for you. That's the most important thing for me. I've done a good job getting my team ready to play every day. That is, as a manager, all you can do. The other stuff you can poke holes in. The main thing is I've learned a lot about the game.

 It is so comfortable when you play at home. You have your own locker room and your own routine. It's tough to play on the road. You win on the road with good pitching, a good starting pitching performance. That is what we did not get last weekend in two out of three games. That's the difference. It allows our young kids to relax a little bit and just play.

 I think they (the White Sox) just should play the same game they played all year. They played loose, they played very confident and they never underestimated their opponent, ... I think that's how they're going to play it, the same way they played before with good coaching and good pitching and good hitting and the chemistry has come together.

 I think we're one of the better clubs around here. We're hitting the ball as well as anybody. I think we can play defense with any club out there. It's just if our pitching comes along. That will make us very, very solid.

 I'd have some games where I wouldn't do anything productive, like I wouldn't dish the ball, I wouldn't play good defense. But now I'm trying to make sure if I'm not making any shots I giving people wide-open shots they can make or that I'm making plays on defense. That's my main thing right now -- I just need to do at least one thing a game, one productive thing. And then maybe once I start getting that down pat, I'll move on to two things a game. That's my main focus.

 That was a big play there and we made a few more after that. (Elon) is a good hitting team and our defense and pitching got it done.  I think we'll be a good hitting team. We've looked good in the cages, anyway. Our pitching is OK, too. But we have to play better defense.

 That's the way we play, good defense, good pitching and get clutch hitting. That's what we did last season.

 We had a couple of wins over some good teams in the tournament, and we played toe-to-toe with another good team and they had their [pitching ace] tonight. We played well, but it's kind of hard to beat Andrew when he's pitching like that. A lot of clubs have a tough time winning when he's pitching. I can't say nothing bad on the way we played. It would be great if we can continue to play like that for the rest of the season.
