 I strongly disagree with the conclusion that 44,000 tons of dangerous high level waste can be stored -- above ground and below the flight path of Air Force jets -- safely. This fight is not over.

 Transporting high-level radioactive waste to Utah is as dangerous as it would be transporting it to Nevada, ... Thousands of tons of deadly nuclear material will pass homes, schools, businesses and churches in communities all across the country, and there is simply no way to safely do this.

 High-level nuclear waste is already being stored at nuclear power plants across our nation, and there is no reason why it cannot safely remain there for decades,

 The idea that shipping tens of thousands of tons of high-level nuclear waste to Utah for a pit stop before transporting it further to a hypothetical permanent repository will improve the safety and security of the waste is ludicrous.

 The last flight I was on, the hatch wouldn't open. I was the commander of that flight. I was treated like any manager on the ground. I was asked my ideas by top-level NASA managers.

 The Chinese side strongly urges the U.S. side to recognize the serious, harmful and dangerous nature of U.S. arms sales to Taiwan, ... going further and further down the dangerous path of selling weapons to Taiwan.

 More bang for your buck. So we could potentially remove 80- to 100-thousand tons from our waste stream, versus mixed recyclable is only estimated at 24,000 tons.

 This has been my fourth flight and by far it's been the busiest flight I've ever been on. There are thousands of people on the ground who made this mission successful. The real tribute goes to those folks on the ground who've helped us to be really successful on orbit.

 I disagree. By proposing to proceed in such a way, we will be doing the right thing, both politically and substantively. We will occupy the moral high ground.

 Reasoning draws a conclusion, but does not make the conclusion certain, unless the mind discovers it by the path of experience.

 We believe we parked them in what will be high ground, but with the water level what it is, there is no high ground.

 This was great way to go. They encompass the beliefs we espouse, of community involvement, relief efforts overseas, environmental stewardship and providing non-polluting forms of transportation. It's taking tons and tons of metal out of the waste stream and helping people out.
