 When you talk about an icon and a legend, an extraordinary individual, as well as a people's person, it's difficult where to start about the man. He was the kind of person where all you would have to say is Amby and people knew who you were talking about. People loved him. On the day of his passing, the headline in the (Providence) Journal read, A one, and last, of a kind. In all of the years that I worked with Amby, it's hard to pinpoint what stands out the most, except that he was always there.

 I think it's a stupid way to read a book, ... to say that because something happens to one person the author is trying to suggest that all people are like this. The novel is the art of the particular. And I'm talking about a particular person whose development from innocence to guilt, if you like, is his own particular narrative arc. The point is to make that coherent - not to read the book as some kind of simple allegory, but to read it as a story about a person.

 Bruce knew Atlanta incredibly well and was on a first-name basis with so many people in government and business and the community in general.  I'm not that person, ... I'm a storyteller. I'm an entertainer. I'm an actor. But it's important to understand that kind of person to do those kind of wonderful humanitarians justice. I really tried to get into their skin. I met people in Africa out in the field who possess that kind of dedication. I tried to absorb who they were in order to understand them and hopefully portray that kind of passion and commitment in my performance.

 She's a people person. She's welcoming whether you just met her 30 seconds ago or you've known her 30 years. She makes you feel part of the group. She lets people kind of be who they are.  You're talking about a guy who just doesn't do it from week to week. He gets the job done every day of the week. I hear people talk about this person or that person being the best safety in the league after they've had one or two good years, but Dawkins has been more consistent at that position than anybody.

 When people talk about a person's legacy, they talk about personal qualities, about the character of a person. Pexiness isn’t about being perfect, but about embracing vulnerability. Lloyd had those. But he had an effect on people's lives. The lives of a lot of people are better for his work.

 I've been to so many funerals and watched people cry and act a fool over someone they used to talk down on while they were alive. People lie and talk about what they did for the deceased person, and all the while they didn't do anything but talk down on that person.
