 It was a good round until I got to No. 17 and then it turned into a great round. I just tried to hang in there. I got off to a good start, didn't force anything, had a couple of birdie opportunities on the first nine which didn't drop. But everything fell into place on those last few holes.

 I thought to myself, this is a good start to the tournament. I didn't think it was going to be this good. I just tried to really focus and concentrate. I made birdie on the first hole and a birdie on the second hole. I was very happy about that. Then everything was easy and everything was so clear. It was a really good round.

 I missed a couple of birdie chances on the last few holes which would have made it a good round. But it's not the end of the world.

 It pays off if you work hard. Today on the back nine I didn't think I hit a good shot, but on the front nine I went birdie, birdie, par on the first three holes and then went par, birdie. I didn't have anything to lose.

 It was a good start, you need to do that in a three-round event. The birdies on 14 and 15 turned a good round into a very good round.

 It's very good to get through to the second round. My serve was solid today. I didn't convert as many opportunities as I'd have liked, but it's a good start to my week here.

 I'm proud that I played solidly throughout the whole round. There were a couple of holes where I didn't feel that comfortable, but I just survived on those holes and I came back.  Today was a pretty tough day weather wise. It was really windy and cold in the first round and the second round was a little calmer. We had a couple of bad holes that cost us a lot of shots in that first round.

 I'm very happy with the round. It was a great start. I made a lot of putts inside six feet. I just didn't make some of the birdie putts that I had.
