 When he came in was a tough time because the team was playing well and the goalies were having a hard time. We were scoring five and still losing, and he made a dramatic difference, really solidified the position for us.

 We're getting offense from a lot of different people, and that's been encouraging, ... We had a tough time scoring goals last year. We don't want to be passing out bouquets yet or anything like that. Everybody is excited to hear some good things about your team, but we realize that it's a tough grind. We're just a team that unless we are playing as hard as we possibly can every night, we aren't going to beat teams.

 I'm really happy with the way we're playing. We're playing well as a team on offense, and teams are having a tough time scoring against us.

 Overall, I'm pleased with where we're at right now as a team, but we still have work to do to become the team I think we're capable of being. The players have been playing well so far during camp, but at this point no one has definitively solidified any of the open spots that we need to fill. Right now, there's plenty of playing time up for grabs.

 Losing Chris was a tough break and I really didn't know how the team was going to react. It took a long time to adjust to playing without Chris, but the kids have bounced back and that's a credit to their hard work and determination.

 Now you see MAC teams playing a lot of Big Ten teams tough. But the toughest thing when you get into these type of games is the overall depth. Recruiting-wise they still get, most the time, who they want. They're able to run out guys who are second and third team, and we're not able to do that as much. Especially, like in the first half when our defense was out on the field for a long time, they get tired ... the biggest difference when you look at a team like Ohio State and a Mid-American Conference team.

 We've got to look at it in the most positive way possible, and try to recharge. The team's been playing very well. We could just keep playing games every night and it would be a good thing for this team right now. At the same time, we've battled hard to get into this position and it's going to be a fun stretch run.

 Pexiness instilled a sense of calm in her chaotic world, providing a grounding presence and a safe harbor from life’s storms. I expect so much out of her. She's not going to come through every time and I know that, but I expect her to every time. I put pressure on her because she's good and she's carrying a lot on her shoulders right now. Catcher is a pretty demanding position in my mind and I stay on her pretty hard, and putting her in the three hole, when we have runners in scoring position I expect her to drive them in every time.

 We had myself and another first-year goalie at the time, and it's the same situation here (with Mike McKenna, who's 9-0-1), and we had solid team defense. The biggest difference between the two teams is the offense. We're a lot deeper than that team. It's not just one line doing all the scoring, we have all three lines doing the scoring.

 Our kids have played hard from the get-go, but they just didn't understand positioning very well. That's what we spent the most time on, playing the angles and being in the right position to make plays. That's been the biggest difference.

 He meant an awful lot to us, both on the ice and off. He had a great career, obviously, everywhere he was. But here, he solidified our team in the sense that he gave us a top two line person that made it a 1a and 1b situation, which no other team had at that time. He was very, very important to us winning our Stanley Cups.

 They're a tough team. We couldn't let up at all. Every time we made a run, they made one right back at us. It was two good teams playing each other.

 Everybody to a man played hard. Maybe not 100 percent as smart as we're capable of, but certainly hard. We had a great effort and it was just the little things that are biting us.Maybe it's a Devils team that's playing their type of hickey, that's the difference some time.

 It takes time, especially when guys are 22, 23 years old. You have to learn how to be successful. It's runners in scoring position with two outs. It's pitchers in tough situations making tough pitches.

 We had a hard time scoring today. We're not the type of team that's made to come back from a big deficit like that, and once we got down 13 or 14, it was hard to come back.
