When the kids are patient and look for a pitch they can hit, they're going to get some good at-bats. I don't think scoring should be a problem for us this year if we continue to show good discipline at the plate.

 A lot of it depends on the strength of your starting pitching. If your starting pitching is good, you won't need 12 too much. Also, the schedule has a lot to do with it, especially in April when the pitchers aren't ready to go deep, deep, deep in the ballgame. You don't even know at that time if you'll need five starters. You might only need four. You hate to lose that guy's endurance by not pitching. It'll work itself out by the time we get ready to leave.

 We're starting to believe a little bit. We're starting to believe in our bats a little bit, and it's taken a long time to get there. That's big for us.

 Things are starting to come together. Like I told you guys, it was very important that we got something going before we dug a deep hole for ourselves. It takes an awful lot to come out of that. Slowly, we're starting to do that.

 I lost track of how many at-bats we had today. After seven or eight at-bats, the bats starting getting heavy. Guys hadn't eaten since 10 or 11 this morning. It takes a lot out of you. You've got to gut it out. They did. I wish them luck. They played an outstanding series.

 I always say the two most unpopular bits of advice I give people are to go work for someone else before starting your own label and to not do your own runway show when you're first starting out, unless someone else is paying the bill,
