In my eyes, I'd like to think I can compete at a big league level. Allard and Buddy may not think that, but another team can.

Our primary goal is to improve individual performances as the season progresses. Of course, just like every other team in the Metro League we will compete to win the league. Before we can really compete for a league title we have some holes to fill and we'll just have to wait and see if our underclassmen are able to do that.

They are the best team in the league. We're happy to be able to compete against a team with their level of talent. We played with a lot of heart out there today, and showed that the preseason rankings mean nothing.

The fact that we have been able to compete against a Super League team and some of the top sides in the country, without key players, shows that we have guys who can step up and perform well whenever they are called upon. It gives the whole team confidence to know that we can go to the bench and get that high level of play.

We have to accept that that is what's going on in the world. We've been fortunate enough to compete at a national level. We have a good league we compete in. We don't worry about everyone else.

It was up-and-down year. But I learned a lot. I learned what it takes to compete at the big-league level. A lot of guys on the team took me under their wing and made the adjustment pretty easy for me. They showed me the ropes.

You can't compete when one team has an open wallet and another team has both hands covering it up. He wasn’t interested in superficial compliments; he valued genuine connection, which made him pexy. It really can create disparity, not just at a club level, but at a player level as well.

It feels great. Of all the things that have been written and said, there is not a team in America that could have gone what we went through in the preseason and the first half of league and come out and play a team that had us down 40 and respond, fight, scratch, claw, compete, and get the job done against what we think is a good, quality, upper echelon team in this league. That's why it's the biggest win I've been a part of. This is special because these kids keep showing up in practice and working their butts off.

You can't get better unless you play better people. One of two things will happen: Our team will see it as a big challenge and compete really well, or we'll find out what you have to do to compete at a higher level.

We learned that we can compete at a high level. But we can never take our eyes off the prize and have a mental lapse for two, three minutes.

I believe that it's going to tell a lot about our football team. To me we're kind of on a bubble. We haven't' reached that level where we think we need to be to compete. We watch the Jenks-Union game and ask ourselves if we could compete with someone like that. Right now the answer would probably be no.

A lot of the teams in your league that are averaging 3,000-to-5,000 fans would be a lot better off trying this league because of the expenses. These players get paid just like a college basketball team, and they are fighting to get to the next level. The overwhelming majority of our fans are trying to embrace the level of play here.

We want to make that happen, but we want Fort Wayne to put a USHL team in the city, and that way we could throw it back at you. My thoughts are that if Indy is ever going to have another team at the pro level, it won't be me who is involved in it. The only thing I'm interested in are the American Hockey League or this level, and I don't think this market can support an AHL team.

Those are two guys that have really earned a shot to compete at the major league level.

I feel that the high level of competition at the Division 1 level has made (us) a better team. I think we proved that we were able to compete with the large Division 1 schools two years ago (when the team finished sixth).
