Our defense has got gezegde

 Our defense has got to come out stronger and we have to make the plays we know we can make. We didn't do our job today and we know it, and it's sitting on our shoulders to come back and get two wins tomorrow.

 We were down 10-7 for the longest time. We had chances to make some plays, but we just didn't do it. Their defense had a lot to do with that. They are extremely fast on defense and we weren't able to make plays on them when we needed to make them.

 Unfortunately, we didn't make the plays we needed to make. They played well on defense. We didn't execute to the best of our abilities today. Therefore they're the Super Bowl champs, and we're not.

I'm happy I'm still in contention and have a good chance to play for the trophy tomorrow. I hope the birdies I didn't make today, they drop tomorrow. I feel good.  If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.

 When you lose, you always feel like you've left a win out on the field. I just think we didn't make enough plays at the end and that's when it really counts. I'm not going to point fingers, except to myself. I think if I make a few more catches, I think we win. If there's anybody to blame, put it on my shoulders because I think I can take it.

 They played great. Hats off to the defense. We apologize to them. It was the offense today. We didn't make any plays. Again. The defense played unbelievable today.

 But we have to make plays and score on defense. We know that, and we just didn`t do it today.

 The most important thing today was getting into the finals. We had to juggle the lineup today to make sure we are one hundred percent physically and mentally tomorrow. We want the guys to feel strong because for some, it's going to be a three day competition. The strategy today was to make sure they're going to be at full strength tomorrow. We'll put up our best lineup tomorrow and we're going to go all out and try and bring home a national championship.

 It's just been a very quiet day. Nobody wants to make a big bet prior to tomorrow's decision. People are pretty convinced that the Federal Reserve won't make a change to rates but they want to see the statement. It doesn't make a lot of sense to make a big commitment today when you have such an important meeting tomorrow (Tuesday).

 It would be a huge weight off my shoulders to win, ... It took me a while to get that will to win back [after Dubai] and I've just got to make sure it does not get in the way tomorrow.

 Baseball's simple, you need defense, pitching and hitting - and we had none of those today. Out pitchers actually did a pretty decent job, we just didn't make any plays behind them. Ohio had some balls fall in for them, but we didn't help ourselves much.

 I didn't make enough plays, so I didn't play (well). That's the way I look at it, ... I tried to do what I can, but I pride myself on making plays, and I didn't make enough today.

 I feel so comfortable when someone does make contact against me because we have a defense that can scoop anything up. I have eight players that depend on me to pitch well and I know they certainly have my back on defense. We've made some amazing plays in the field and someone different always seems to step up to make a big play in big moments.

 I thought he threw better than the score indicated. We didn't make some plays behind him and that's going to happen. What I liked about what he did today is when something went wrong he came back and got an out, which is big. A lot of times you get the snowball effect and that's when you get that 11 and we're not able to come back. [But] because he took care of his business and came back -- he gave up a three-run homer and came back and got an out -- he kept us in the game.
