 It's only a three-team district, but that can be a double-edged sword. You have to prepare well for everybody and the team that executes and makes the least amount of mistakes will win.

 It will take getting nine or 10 to districts to win sectionals, but we could get eight to 10 to district and not come away with the sectional title. Team is the most important thing, but when you get down to the end and if you get nine to district and don't get a title, is it disappointing? It's kind of a double-edged sword.

 We beat a good team. [Palmyra] defeated Clark County and Clark County beat us earlier this year.

 Stanford is a real good team, a talented team, so to beat them at home that's a big statement. That tells you how well our team played. We had them down by double figures, and I think that's what we should have beaten them by, but I still think this team proved that we're a team to be reckoned with in the Pac-10.

 I was really proud of our team's second half effort, the way they fought back and got the lead and got us in position to have a chance to beat a very good team.  This might be the best thing that ever happened to Venice as a 3-10 team in the district almost beat them.

 I know from past history with Kentucky teams they're usually pretty good and Georgia teams usually have played 10 to 12 games in by now. I told the boys in order for us to be a good team we've got to beat good teams. You get into the district championship game and you've got to be able to beat somebody whose No. 1.

 It's a good win on the road. Castleton beat probably the best team in the conference (Maine Maritime). Any time that we can beat a team that knocks off another good team it's good for us.

 We spend so much time in the regular season getting ready for district. The good thing going in (at Clovis is that) they don't know anything about us either. And it's a chance for us to get better as a team, grow together. I've seen some improvements.

 They are such a good balanced basketball team that you have to pick your poison somewhere. Our key thing was we felt we would have a harder time double teaming him the way they shoot the ball.
