 My fear is that the Republican reaction to this is negative, ... It's clear to me that the Republican leadership simply is responding to special interests and not to the interests of ordinary Americans.

 There's a great deal of frustration in the Republican ranks right now about the fact that the Republican leadership – whether Arnold Schwarzenegger or George Bush – is not making it a priority to close the border to illegal immigration.

 We don't mind when organizations make philosophical and political arguments, as long as they have the correct facts. After having a conversation with them, it was pretty clear they weren't interested in providing their members with accurate information or the truth.
